Nothing Like Sympathy Pukes!

So I had a stomach virus ALL WEEKEND long.  I stayed home from work yesterday to recuperate and minimize my risk of infecting anyone else. 

 

I was feeling better, cuddled up on the couch with Peri at my feet and Tacky the chihuahua on my lap under the blanket. 

 

Please note the blanket was a purchase from our Ireland trip - cashmere, just my favorite luxury item in the house basically.

 

I am drifting off when I hear the gag reflex from Tacky.  He is under the covers, puking all over me.  Basically un-digested homecooked food (rice, eggs, beef, ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh). 

 

I spring to my feet, throwup is sliding down my legs.  Taquito is covered in it and my blanket.  The blanket. is. covered. 

 

I am gagging, trying to somewhat clean things up and give Tacky a bath.  I mean, I am getting over the stomach virus, come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Poor buddy ran off he was so embarrased. 

 

I called DH crying telling him he had to come home and deal with the mess or I was going to throw up everywhere.  He did hurry home and helped me out :)  Good man!

 

I am feeling better. Tacky is feeling fine today (he ate dinner last night for goodness sake).  But I do think that may have been a sympathy puke.  What a sweet little feller. That almost cost me another day of recovery.  Oh and a $20 dry cleaning bill today for the blanket :)

What a mess and being a real food feeder, I know exactly what that must've been like. Yuck! You definetly have a great DH. I know mine would be rolling his eyes on the phone saying " You've GOT to be kidding,no I'm not coming home, they are your dogs" funny how they are MY. Dogs when they are sick or bad.... Like kids were, hummmm.

Allyson, this sounds awful.  I can't even imagine having the stomach flu and then having a dog vomit all over ME.  You definitely married the right guy though.  I really can't see my DH coming home to clean up this mess...I'm sure he'd say he was on his way to some important meeting.
