NOTHING to do with Doodles.. Just need to vent

So where else does one turn to vent than to those ever so caring doodle friends who are always there with open arms and hearts.... many of you know I am so anxiously awaiting a dream vacation to Hawaii. (one that we have been trying to go on for 18 years).   Just as I was feeling so bad that we are leaving Tori (in good hands) for 10 days, my older son decides to take my mind off those worries by coming down with a FEVER!  YUP... 2 days before we have to fly 13 hours.... my 18 year old gets sick!  Ran to the doctor.  They did a rapid strep, negative....checked ears,  nose - clear... and chest sounds clear (since he began a cough 2 days prior) - only to hear that "V" word that most moms hate hearing..... "virus".    So home we go with a prescription (incase a secondary infection brews) to fill if needed... My poor son has spent yesterday and all day today in bed with fever fluctuating between 100.8 and 102.9 .  I'm praying his fever breaks by tomorrow, and that NO ONE else comes down with it.... I would HATE for him to fly feeling so awful!  Feeling so guilty as well for being upset about him being sick...  THANKS for letting me vent.  (was going to post on 'facebook' but didn't want to risk him seeing it.  He already is really feeling bad)...THANK YOU!

My all-time favorite vacation was a trip to Hawaii.  I live in southern California and have been to the beach a lot, so I thought what's the big deal about Hawaii?  Well, I found out.  It is the most gorgeous place and the beaches are right off the road - you don't have to go where everyone else is.  We went with a friend who attended college in Hawaii and he took us to a beach where we swam with giant sea turtles - amazing - and we were all by ourselves too.

Gosh, what a downer on the vaca! I hope your son is feeling much better tomorrow. Years ago, I remember getting sick when I arrived in Miami to take another cruise to the Bahamas. I went to the hospital and was told I had the flu, but I just had to "tough it out", the doctor said, and "get some over-the-counter medication." With my cousin in-tow and it being his first cruise, I decided to just make the best of it and let him have a good time. Well, I didn't buy any OTC meds, but started getting smashed when the ship began to sail, and I stayed that way the entire time. Flu, what flu? I had a blast. Hopefully, you all will too. Please tell your son I hope he feels better REALLY soon.

Oh NO! Donna!  FEEL Better!!! I actually did give him the antibiotics and don't know if it's coincidence but that's when his fever started to break!  Hope the same for YOU!

FEVER'S DOWN! Yippee!!! Now just praying he's the ONLY one who gets sick!  He now has developed quite a cough (which I'll take) so maybe that was just brewing!  THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!  Maybe I can tune in to DK in the air tomorrow
