Oh NO - Stuart has a girlfriend!

Like any parents we have to watch as our baby doods grow out of puppyhood and become big doods.  Stuart at 9 months and 65 lbs is no longer a baby.  Now to my alarm he has a stalker girlfriend.  A new family has moved into the neighborhood and they have started coming to "big" dog time, they give "big dog" a whole new meaning!!  It didn't take their Great Dane long to lay claim to my baby Stuart.  She is obsessed with him and although she plays rough and I had to intervene a few time  - he loves her !!!!  Lola is 115 lbs of puppy love and she has an older brother, a Wolf Hound, Conan who weighs in at a slender 140 lbs.  Conan is the rare "intact" dog in our development but he is the most gentle dog I have ever seen - but let me tell you - people and dogs who might want to come into the dog park - they see Conan and just keep on walking past - lol.  He is intimidating!  Most of the other dogs are afraid of Conan but guess who isn't one bit afraid?  Rooney!  He has become the alpha dog of the entire "big dog" time at the park, does he not realize that he is snack sized?  LOL  All 21.5 lbs.  When Lola gets too rough with Stuart - Rooney can run her right off - it is a sight to see.

Way to go, Rooney!  Us little guys need to stick together!  You tell that Great Dane who's boss!  And as far as Stuart and his girlfriend.  I hope her "mommy" is not one of those pure breed snobs - if so, I wonder how she feels about her little girl hanging with a boy from the "wrong side of the tracks".

That is just too funny!  Just remember, though, that Rooney is spoken for.  I have the wedding dress for Rua and the tuxedo tie for Rooney!  So glad that Stuart is finding a lady love.  Perhaps a double wedding?  LOL

Jane, I love these pictures. What fun!! Rooney is the policeman at the dog park....breaking up fights and keeping the peace. Stuart, meanwhile, is going there to pick up girls...LOL!!!

Little Rooney is definitely looking like the "boss of the dog park".  I love how he's watching out for his "baby brother".   I think it's pretty cute that Stuart has a girlfriend...."whatever Lola wants....".

The formatting didn't turn out for the photos very well but in the last photo up top - yes Rooney is "telling" Lola to knock it off.  The yellow dog in the background of the last shot up top is not Stuart who is off getting a drink I think.  Stuart is waaay more fluffy as seen in this photo.  In this pic note how once again Rooney is between himself and the dog (Ginger) approaching from the left.  Rooney really does think that he has to protect Stuart - and he can get nippy to these big dogs in order to boss them around.  I'm not sure that is a good thing.  When he went to "small dog" time he wasn't like that.  :(
