Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have been mostly MIA lately, the reason? Well suffice to say it has something to do with a leash, a dog and a DH that didn't use his head.
We were out hiking on a nice afternoon 2 weeks ago this past Sunday. We were in the woods, I was holding Daisy, DH was NOT thinking and went off the path and tried to pick up a very large fallen limb, Daisy did not see him, only the branch and took off like a bat out of he_ _! Remember who was holding the leash? That's right, a 70lb doodle on the end of a 3 foot leash yanked my arm so hard I nearly fell. After the initial shock of it all (and a few choice words for Mike) I seemed to be fine.
Fast forward to this past Monday when after 2 weeks of thinking it would get better I finally caved and went to the Dr.
No torn anything just badly pulled....steroids and muscle relaxers have eased the pain for the most part but I can not sit at the computer for very long, perhaps 20 minutes, before it all starts throbbing again. Not good for work but especially not good for me and DK. In 10 days I will be in physical therapy...nope not good news.
Anyway, just wanted to say I was thinking about you all and hope to be back soon.

I hope you are pain free very soon...what an easy thing to happen.
Ouch! Nothing like being in pain from having your arm almost pulled out of it's socket. I wish you a speedy recovery and no more picking up limbs and scaring Daisy Doodle:) while out hiking.
Bummer. Hope it gets better fast!
That isn't good, Lisa! Pain stinks. I hope you feel better very soon. I'm sure your DH and your Daisy are very sorry. A 70 pound torpedo tug would definitely hurt.
Lisa, No dinner making....hmmmmm....this is giving me an idea :) I am glad you are being well cared for and I hope you are on the mend soon.
Thanks EVERYONE! Oh and not to worry Clancy Daisy is just fine!
DH is always very attentive but because of this he doesn't expect much in the way of dinner - that's a plus! :-)
Lisa, I am so sorry this happened to you. I am sure your DH is waiting on you hand and foot :) I hope you are taking it easy. Feel better soon.
So sorry Lisa! Feel better soon!
Feel better soon!
