What a first 48 hours it has been with our new baby boy doodle, Finn. He came into our home THE KING. . .ruling over our other 4 dogs. The food is his, the toys are his, the beds are his . .. Patrick is his. . .too funny. From what I understand, he was totally the Omega dog in his litter, so it is nice to see that he is trying to "start over"!!!!!

I had forgotten how tiring puppies were!!!! Poop, pee. . ..poop, sleeping, chewing, pee. . .poop. There is a lot of poop and not so much sleep!!!! But there are more smiles, giggles, belly rubs, puppy breath kisses, soft paws. . . .way more of the good stuff than the bad. .. .and none of it ever seems to last as long as you want it to.

Awwww... welcome, Finn! What a cutie. Your comment about pooping and peeing made me laugh. We do forget about that, don't we? Enjoy every minute with him!

Shawn, Finn or whatever you decided to officially name him, is absolutely adorable!!!! I will keep watching for your posts. I am waiting for Teri's Tula/Cherokee litter to come in about 9 days!! It would be great if it were sooner! Between you and Jamie Petro, I am hoping to learn a lot before my little one comes home! It is also fun to see where your pups are weight wise. That way I might have some comparison when I take our Cimmy to the vet for her first visit in June. Have a Happy Easter! Betsy

He is a doll baby!! Wow, five, we only have the one and we talk about bringing home a second. I hesitate because I think it will be challenging and then I see your post that you have 5. And all I can say is WOW....

I'm waiting on Monique's litter, which will probably be born any minute / day now...

What a beautiful boy Thomas is too! That reminds me, did Teri give you a projected weight estimate of your baby? (I'm just wondering if there's any way to tell as a puppy how big they'll get...)

Welcome home Finn, Here is a picture of our doodle , Thomas two days after he came home. They look so much alike. I was going to send a picture of him two weeks later, but I was in the background wearing gloves to protect myself and I didn't want to scare you. But hey, you have four other dogs!! I am sure you are used to everything in this puppy stage. Ours is now around 60 lbs. at 6 1/2 mths old. He is a sweet dog. Congrats on your new puppy. Now I want another one.

Well, he isn't so happy to be alone in a crate at night. . .so he has done some crying. With Tallulah, my 11 month old I remember it taking about 4 or 5 days to get used to the crate at night and then, by 4 months she was sleeping with the rest of the pack on their beds in the living room. Our other dogs have all been rescues and no need for crating, so I'm not a pro by any means and I've forgotten a lot since last summer!!!! What litter are you waiting for?

Wow! Finn is just melt-your-heart beautiful! How was he the first night home? Lots of whining or a sound sleeper? Hearing you and Jamie talk about your puppies is terrific, and it makes me even more excited to think of getting my puppy. In approximately 8 weeks or so. Precious little boy.

Oh. . . .5 is wonderful. We do rescue and usually have a couple of extra fosters around here. . .so it won't be too different. I grew up never having less than 6 or 7 in the house. . .I just don't know any different and to me, it's lonely without a pack. i'm lucky to be able to work at home, if that weren't the case, I'd never be able to manage it!!!!

Ms. Lucille Ball is a beauty!!!! Tallulah is very camera shy, she is our other doodle. . .but I hope to get some pics of her posted soon!!!!
