Yesterday Bella was spayed.  Thank goodness for our vet, Dr. Gross!  As usual he made this procedure much less stressful because he picked up our Bella girl at our home around 9:00 a.m. and took her to his office to do the operation.  Around 11:30, I received a text message saying "Bella is out of surgery, still sleepy, but out of surgery".  Obviously, this was a relief for me to know my baby had done well "under the knife".  He texted me again to let me know what time he would bring Bella home.  When Dr. "Steve" arrived  at our home with Bella, she seemed like she was in a stupor.  She took slow, tentative steps and just stood there staring at me with a look on her face which said, "Mommy, what did you let him do to me?"  Bella continued to just stand there, and looked like she was going to fall asleep standing up.  I finally had to pick her up in order to lay her down on her pillow and she finally fell into an exhausted sleep.  She was pretty much out of it all night, and into this morning, she still was pretty groggy, so I had to carry her outside to relieve herself.  By the time I returned home for lunch, she was almost her old self again... spunky little girl.  I'm going to have to keep her calm so she doesn't overdo it over the next few days.  Having a vet who does house calls is such a blessing.  It takes so much of the stress away from the pet owner during a nerve racking situation, such as this surgery.  My vet is a sweetheart and my doodles are in good, safe hands with Dr. Steve.   I wouldn't trust my precious girl to just anyone!

It's wonderful having a vet who makes house calls.  Dr. Gross was a true blessing when our Champ was getting regular treatments for his arthritis and nerve damage in his right hip.  If we had had to get Champ into our car and drive to and from a vet hospital, it would have been very difficult and upsetting for our Champ.  This way Dr. Steve came to the house, gave Champ his lazer treatments all in the comfort of his own home.  What a blessing that was.  We were very lucky!

Wow, a vet who picks up and delivers the patient? You are very lucky! Hope Bella's recovery is fast and uneventful!

It is wonderful to have your vet pick up your pup and then deliver her back home. Wishing Bella a fast and easy recovery.  I now have a mobil vet that has a huge RV outfitted with x-ray and ultrasound  equipment and anything else you would need. She is even set up to do surgery.  She is a compassionate woman that also believes in holistic medicine along with having graduated from Tufts in vet medicine.  I am grateful I found her.  Lily also will be picked up and delivered for her day at day camp.  There seems to be a trend to help busy dog parents which I am not but it is a nice convenience.

That is amazing a vet comes to your home and picks up your Doodle!  Does he always do house calls or just for surgery?  I am happy Bella is doing well and up and around so quickly.
