Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
With all the excitement of the holiday, fireworks and family birthdays being celebrated, I never got around to posting photos for Pippa. Pippa's very 1st birthday was Sat, Jun 27.
I remember when I first saw her picture while just randomly looking at Doodle puppy pictures. She reminded me so much of a tiny English Golden Retriever. We had a beautiful Golden retriever for 13 years and Chloe was the best dog I ever had. We lost her to bone cancer and though I knew I would never be without a dog, DH did not want another Golden just because of the massive amounts of hair that was everywhere in my house and on my clothes. So when I saw Baby Pippa with her tiny Golden face, I just fell in love. I finally convinced DH that she would be so much easier because she could never shed as much as a full size Golden. And of course Daphne needed someone to play with. Lucy is not big on playtime. Only on her terms, not very often and not very long..Lol!
Of course we brought Pippa home and both Lucy & Daphne have fallen in love just like me. Somehow Pippa gets Lucy to play more, even when she doesn't want to. Daphne loves to run around the yard with her and they love to play tug-of war with each other.
We had a family celebration on Sunday with party guests that included Daphne, Lucy and Baby Lyla (she will always be BABY Lyla to me..lol!) We had two small doggie cakes and a birthday cookie for everyone.
The pre-party pictures tell us just how Pippa feels about having her photo taken. I prefer to think she is just learning how to "Say Cheese".
We had some party guests who were quite unruly. They just could not, would not stay focused on the task at hand...letting Mom take some great pictures! Instead they turned their heads or just decided to take off or tried to sneak some of the cake before it was time.
I did manage to get one photo where everyone is looking at me...sort of.
Lucy wins the prize for "Best Behaved Guest". She did not run away once. She actually like to see the camera come out because she knows she will get treats. Poor Lucy gets limited treats because she needs to drop a few pounds (just like her Mama).
Baby Lyla is still looking for more cake!

Oh Nancy, they wear those pretty collars so nicely!
Lonnie- Im glad you think so. The rest of my family thinks I am bat-doodle crazy!
Becka- That would be Daphne & Pippa, the Bobsy twins. I think they have a secret signal. They just look at each other and then take off together...every time.
Thank you Cheryl. My helper (DH) wasn't having so much fun but I sure did!
Wonderful photos! Mine would never wear hats long enough for a picture, much less looking at me. Great job.
Happy Birthday, Pippa. (Darn! the internet connection won't let me load a picture in this discussion).
Happy Birthday Pippa! Your Mommy definitely knows how to throw a party!
I love the photo where the two on the left are starting to take off--so cute! Happy birthday to you, Pippa!
Missed this, but Happy Birthday Pippa! Looks like a good time was had by all!!
Thank you all sooo much for the birthday wishes! We did have a lot of fun and also some frustration but thats to be expected with so many "toddlers"...Hehe.
