Every morning around 7 AM, Whopper wakes us up and our day begins. My husband takes them both out and the typical morning report is Simba did both, Whopper just peed. On one morning in particular, this was exactly the story. So I get up, shower, get dressed, feed the dogs, and then it's my turn. I take Whopper and Simba out and Whopper quickly does the business she didn't do on her first trip. We wander around a little more, Simba does nothing, so we head to the door. Whopper freezes in her tracks and doesn't want to budge. Come on Whopper, it's time to go in. She just looks at me and won't budge. YOU'VE done your business I remind her. Well, with a little tug Whopper and Simba are both in the door. Immediately, Whopper does what no lady should ever do and sticks her nose up Simba's back end, looks at me, and sticks her nose back in there. I literally say out loud to Whopper, Whopper, if Simba goes in the hallway, I will apologize, and from now on I will always listen to you regarding Simba's poop schedule. So we go through another door (we live in an apt complex with long hallways) round a corner, take about 5 more steps and Simba squats. I say NO!, but it's too late. Simba just can't help it. He poops! Slightly mushy poop in nine places right in front of someone else's door. We've already gone too far into the building to try and run back out and we learned that lesson early on! Whopper is standing there giving me the "I told you so" look and Simba is hanging his head. As I walk them back to the apartment to get my husband to help with the cleaning, I'm thinking to myself I should have listened to Whopper. So my husband and I clean up the hallway and when I get back to the apartment, Whopper is still giving me the look and Simba is giving me the most sad puppy dog eyes I've ever seen. I suddenly feel unbelievably guilty knowing this could have been avoided and find myself apologizing to both of them. So yes my doodle friends, I have a poop detector, her name is Whopper, and from now on she is the boss of Simba's poo schedule.
(I've been meaning to post this story for a while but just hadn't taken the time...)
Does anyone else with two dogs have one that possesses such a talent?

Brilliant, Whopper! (Don't feel bad, mommy, you're just a human :-)
Reminds me of a story I heard on NPR about Tucker, the whale scat sniffing Lab.
