Phoebe woke up as though it was going to be just a normal day. We took her outside to play and then she got sick three times and laid down on the grass. I got so scared that I called the vet immediately to inform the office that I was bringing her in. When we got there, Phoebe seemed to perk up a little and she even wanted to play with a GR puppy. The vet said she checked out fine--no pain in the abdomen, normal temp, well hydrated, etc. She suggested we do a ruine test as Phoebe has had so many issues with this and it was there they discovered that Phoebe has a high white blood cell count AGAIN. Becuase the vet is trying to determine whether this is vaginitis or a bladder infection, they are keeping Phoebe to run a different urine test and possible culture. I am a wreck waiting for the call to go pick her up an I am praying that this will be a simple fix once and for all. The vet agrees that the vomiting was probably unrelated to this issue but a good thing as now we determined that there is another issue brewing. How did I fall so far in love so quickly? I cannot wait for that call to pick her up this afternoon.

Hi Phoebe's mom. Thanks for your compliment on Koda. Phoebe looks so cute on the couch too. I wonder if it is a Goldendoodle thing.

Funny thing is I do have pet insurance but I am being told that it is a pre-existing condition as the first time it was diagnosed was the day after we received her. I am continuing to submit the bills with a letter--preferably from our vet although I do not know how much good it will do.

I hope you have Pet Insurance if these infections are going to be an ongoing thing!

Phoebe has not been spayed yet--that appointment is June 2nd and I dread it! She definitely has an infection as she is back to peeing in the house today which had gotten better for a short while. Now we just need to see why she gets them so frequently. She is so hungry though it is killing me. She did not sleep well as I think she was starving. Everytime I put the rice and chicken in her bowl--which she LOVES--she looks at me as if to say 'you've gotta be kidding, that's it?!' Thankfully, if she continues to keep this down I can start transitioning her own food back in tomorrow. She is also more nippy which I am attributing to the diminished food consumption. Now we have added constipation to the list of issues which I had anticipated. Poor little Phoebe-this is NOT her week!

Awww poor thing. How old was she when she got spayed? Do you think the recurring problems have anything to do with her spay? I am a little worried because my Abyy was spayed by breeder very early. Some literature I read on this speaks of urinary tract developement problems because of early spay. Other literature refutes it so you never know what to think.
