I usually do not do blog posts like this, but the situation in the Middle TN area is devastating. It will not stop raining, flooding is everywhere. I have had 4 best friends basically lose their houses - one with 3 dogs and a newborn baby. All are safe at this point. We are safe, including dogs and my family is safe. But interstates are flooded, people are stranded - it is unprecedented.

Please keep the state of TN in your thoughts right now. I appreciate it so much.

Y'all are definitely in my thoughts and prayers! I only know about it because my family is all in Tennessee. We had horrible flooding here in Atlanta this past fall and while I was fortunate to not have my home damaged, I'm still nervous when we get a lot of rain because it was SCARY. Allyson - please stay safe and be careful when out and about!

Everyone involved in the flood areas are in our thoughts and prayers for their lives and their safety. How unfortunate

I have been talking with one of my friends in Nashville via FaceBook and she said so many of our friends have lost their homes (I used to live in Nashville) and their pets are missing, etc. It is a catastrophe there. She and her husband were only safe because their home is on a higher elevation, but they are without power. My prayers are with all of TN!

Please get the word out - it is MUCH MUCH worse - it should be on the front of every news website - for me to know personally 5 friends without houses is crazy. I am not even counting coworkers, acquantances, etc...between my facebook friends alone, i would say 30+ have been flooded out of their homes or are stranded.

I agree this is not being covered adequately in the news; I was not even aware of it until I read this blog!

National news is not really doing this justice! Please keep our friends in your prayers!! This flooding is very bad. Here is a link to one of the local Nashville tv stations. The flood pictures are devastating.

Thank you again everyone and keep the prayers coming. Many folks are stuck in their homes. My boss has a friend stuck with 2 kids in their house. Unbelievable. I hope the national news are doing this justice and giving it attention because it is like Hurricane Kat hit us.

Oh my goodness Allyson, I've been out of the loop all weekend and just learned of this this morning. I am glad you are okay, and will keep you, your friends, the Newkirks, Teri and all of Tennessee in my prayers. What a mess.
