Puppies start to leave for their new homes

Today, the first puppy is leaving for her new home and 3 more will leave by Sunday. I will post pictures of all the new owners and their pups. All the puppies are doing really well and are ready to go but 5 of the 9 will be here for a while longer. March vacations are making it difficult for some families to pick up their pups at 8 weeks old, so I agreed to board them until everyone is back. That means one extra week for one pup and two extra weeks for two pups. Then there are two others that are being placed later--so I will have them until mid-April--right after that, I am going to sleep for a week!! It really has been tiring raising 8 puppies, getting thru the holidays and then, just a week later, raising 9 puppies--I am tired! These guys are very active and love lots of attention, so it takes a lot of energy to keep up with them.

There is one that LOVES to eat--she is a little tank--and she keeps getting out of the X-pen somehow when i am in the kitchen getting their food ready! I was guessing that she is climbing out but it is a 34 inch fence! Well, this morning we watched her as I prepared my dogs' breakfasts--she climbed up the side of a 24 inch crate, walked gingerly over the top (it is a wire crate) and then jumped OFF!! OMD!! We had to attach a gate to the top of the crate between the two walls of the pen (which are higher than the crate) to keep her IN!

Today is so warm that I had them outside a lot and they are now sleeping peacefully--Thank goodness--here are some pics of Rosie and her new mom--

Aria must be related to your escapee baby (that's what we call them around here).  She could climb out of any x-pen...24 or 36 inches high when she visited over the holidays.  I thought I was loosing my mind at first and then I caught her in the act!  :)

I have to keep the "trouble maker"  for an extra week--but her new mom is already aware of her "issues"and as an Arabian horse trainer, she is up to the challenge! I have a pen outside with garden fencing and she was trying to climb that the other day--just like you would climb a ladder--amazing! But that is surely a sign of intelligence and she will be a great companion for her new mom.

Hope we do get to work together some day Sandy--would LOVE to see you get one of these cute babies!

Ginny you deserve to sleep for at least two weeks. Rosie is beautiful and her mom looks quite smitten.
