Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I am sitting here with a migraine and about to go to pick up my adorable grandchildren to spend the night. I'm not sure how I will manage this, but DH is the best grandfather or we couldn't even try it. As I lie here contemplating the next 24 hours, I am suddenly struck that my 15 week old puppy and my 20 month old grandson have lots in common.
Both are full of crazy energy!
Both are testing us constantly to determine what will happen if they misbehave.
Both seem to "laugh" when caught doing something unacceptable.
Both seek out new experiences constantly with destructive tendencies.
Both need naps or the craziness gets out of control.
Both have older siblings who tolerate them well but are both wonderfully behaved.
Both adore their siblings and the adults get quite a bit of relief when the are engaged in play together.
Putting puppy and toddler together for a day may become a wild experience filled with excitement and hopefully good naps! Fun times ahead.

I'll pray for you!!!! But what a blessing. Your grandson will not grow up afraid of animals.
Bless your heart, Leigh! Owen was definitely the naughtier of the two. Need to get at obedience training with a vengeance!
Oh how I would love to trade places!! You get to give one back just remember that!!!
That is classic! You are soooo incredibly right!!!
Lets not forget that like toddlers, puppies put everything into their mouths. I am constantly taking things out of Rooney's mouth!
I always think having dogs is a lot like having kids! I just wish I could have crated the kids and left them home--just kidding. But I am sure the collar and leash would have been helpful, feeding them kibble instead of cooking and getting into who likes big tomatoes and who like small, etc. Yet it's usually, but not always, nice that the kids have grown up and can talk.
Oh, good luck Bonnie! I love your comparison of your grandson and the puppy.
