Kona, age 3, and Owen, 14 weeks, are getting along great. Kona has developed a new game. He goes out the doggie door in the kitchen and comes to the French door in the family room waiting for Owen to notice him. When Owen sees Kona he goes to the door wildly begging to get out. I go to the door, let him out and he attacks Kona with glee. After a minute, Kona goes in the doggie door in the kitchen, walks through the house to the French door in the family room and waits for Owen to see him. Owen wildly begs to get inside where he attacks Kona after I open the door for him. Shorly thereafter, Kona goes out the doggie door and stands in front of the French door in the family room... you get the idea. This game is tons of fun for both of them but not so much fun for me. I decided it is time to teach Owen how to use the doggie door. Hope he figures it out soon!

They have such diverse personalities. We are worrying a little that our spunky little pup is going to be the dominant one. Kona is such a gentle sweetheart that he doesn't correct Owen very often. He just leaves. Right now, Kona is 94 pounds of love; Owen is 20 pounds of fiesty.

That is too funny, look how smart Kona is....I love it, is't it amazing that he figured this game out all by himself....I tell you doodles are just so smart it is really something...

This game is hilarious and reminds me of when my son and his oversized Doberman pup lived with us. The Doberman (who was HUGE) used to perch on the landing at the top of the stairs, thus preventing our own dog from using the stairs at all. You could just see the inside grin he had when he did this....

Right now they are playing so nice... chewing on one another and wrestling. It is great to watch. For a while Owen was just being too rough with my big boy, but they are really being cute right now. I am so grateful for Kona's sake that he has a buddy. When our Golden died he was so very sad. Of course, I have fallen in love with our puppy, too. Love it when he first wakes up and is all cuddly with no bites.

Oh my goodness Jane. We would go nuts if they had to go out separately! You and DH are saints. I taught Owen to come in the doggie door this afternoon. He has done it consistently five times without the treat or me calling him! What a smart baby. This game is going to end soon. Now they can leave me out of the attack. hahaha.

This is so funny. We have to take our guys out individually (because they won't go potty if they're together), but when they come back inside they immediately "attack" one another. It's whoever is coming in that is the "aggressor" and chases the other. It's now part of the "going out" ritual. It's a really fun game for them. DH and I now know to just stay out of the way.

oh dear. I am not only camera incompetent I don't even have a video camera. My daughter tells me there is one on my phone but you couldn't prove it by me.
