Rain in Southern California

It is raining right now and we are so grateful.  Today it will be a light rain while tomorrow we in the foothills (1,500 feet elevation) north of Escondido, can expect 1-2 inches.  Not only will this save us money on our water bills, but it reduces the hazard of wildfires considerably.

 

We usually expect our worst fire season to be in October if we haven't received the rains by then.  The wild lands can be bone dry and the Santa Ana winds can come ripping in from the deserts to our East. However, hopefully this rain might mean that we are safe from an evacuation due to wildfires for another year.

 

Of course, everyone isn't happy!  Holly is staring out the glass sliding door out to our patio and yard.  She wonders why she isn't out there running like usual.

I wish I could give y'all some of our rain and flood water.

Water levels are still high in many provinces in Thailand. 

Bangkok (where I live) has not been affected YET, but it's just a matter of time as water is on it's way here.

In some areas, the entire first floor is underwater :(

It was wet this morning but only sprinkles in Riverside since then.

So glad to hear you are getting rain.Southern Oregon is getting its first good rain in some time too! It is a nice change and puts an end to our fire season too!! :)

I'd take the rain and muddy paws over wild fires.

Here in OH we had a sunny day after 6 days of rain....Daisy still had muddy feet but she is one happy doodle for being able to go out and play in the sun.
