Friday was one of those days when it is hard for me to go outside for any period of time. It was overcast and drizzly. The dampness causes every joint that I have ever injured to ache. This meant Haley wasn't going to get any fetch in. Instead I gave Haley a bath.
After the bath and blow dry I got out the 10 small buckets I had previously bought at a dollar store and the freeze dry liver treats that Haley had not been given since he was a puppy and at that time didn't like. Now he loves them. With Haley gated off downstairs I scattered the buckets upside down in the upstairs hall. Then I let Haley upstairs and told him to find the treats. He thought they were in the air and kept sniffing the air. Finally I showed him to sniff the buckets and one by one he found which bucket had a treat under it. The empty buckets he flipped over with his nose but the treat buckets he kept pushing around on the floor. After Haley had the hang of the game I would have him sit when he found a treat bucket and let me pick up the bucket and he got the treat. I think Haley is going to like this game when we have rainy days.

Anne, Your DH did a great job. They are beautiful and charming! I love older homes. Our dream home was a gorgeous old home, but unfortunately the day we saw it someone was already putting a bid on it and won. It all worked out, but it really was the home of my dreams.
Laurie, Re: the floors, they are 230+ years old. When we bought the house DH refinished them.
What a great idea!! We have had so many rainy days here, I am thinking about building an Ark :) BTW, I love your floors.
Our puppy school taught us this trick but with Red Solo Cups- (just fill them up, let's have party....)
cool
How cute and so sweet! Great idea for a rainy day!
Great rainy day game. Thanks!
Wow, that sounds like lots of fun! Lucy would be really good at that game!
