Today has been a trying day! UHHHGGG! Remington discovered the love for shoes today and how enjoyable it can be to chew them! I went downstairs in the afternoon to find my CROCS chewed to bits! SERIOUSLY! GRRR! He has becoming a trying teenager! I am at my wits end!!!!!!!!!!! What happened to my perfect angel of a puppy??? Please tell me this is just a phase and he'll grow out of it!

Some other things he has learned to enjoy are the following...

1) grabbing toilet paper on the roll and RUNNING for his life with it!
2) pulling clothes off hangers
3) pulling towels off counters
4) pulling trash such as tissues out of the trash can and eating it!

and the list goes on!

I feel so badly because my days with him have went from very enjoyable to the point where I don't even like being around him! Don't get me wrong... I love him more than I could ever put into words... but my patience with him is running short!

I feel for you! Samantha (and no other of our dogs of ours) NEVER ate anything that wasn't hers. Now comes Charli! Last week I found my Croc Flipflops out on the back lawn - they were on the ottoman on the patio nextto my feet. Never saw her.
The following day I found one my new fit flops in the pacasandra bed - TG I followed her to see what all the excitment was about. That shoe was upstairs in my bedroom. Now close your eyes and picture this - I wear a size 10 (stop laughing) - Charli weighs all of 16.2 lbs - she went down (which by the way she is not allowed upstairs) the stairs with the canoe in her mouth to carry it outside, down the lawn to the bed.
I learned you can't take your eyes off of this little Doodle. I never realized just how good Samantha is.
Oh, my fit flop has tiny teeth holes in them. Glad I rescued it before she started chewing on it.

Sounds like it is time for Remington to spend lots of time totally supervised or 'locked' up again when you can't be with him. I am sorry I have no more advice but I definitely will be watching the advice you get.

Sorry to hear that Remington is going through such a rambunctious stage. Keeping the bathroom door closed would definitely help eliminate numbers 1 and 4, and keeping closet doors closed will eliminate #2. When they are going through these stages, you just have to try to keep everything out of reach, and give really stern corrections when you find them with things they aren't supposed to have, accompanied by the substitution of something it's okay to have, like their own toy or bone. Hopefully, this too shall pass.
