Rileys First Checkup

I took Riley this morning for her first visit to see the doctor! As soon as we walked in, she started crying as if knowing it was the doctors office!!

 

At seven weeks Riley weighs just about 3 pounds. TIIIINNNNY. However, the doc said that her heart and all is healthy.

 

I brought in a stool sample and they said as soon as they put it under the scope there was a bad case of parasites : (

This explains why she has pooped IN her crate a few times, poor girl cant help it!! The vet said she had to of gotten it from our breeder (which upsets me, along with a few other things). We walked out of the office with two prescriptions for the parasites and one for heartworm. I will take another sample back to the office in 10 days and see where we are from there!

 

I just want my baby to feel better!!!

Wow a very tiny pup indeed.  Funny, when you were talking about her crate accidents in an earlier post, it ran through my mind that she may have a health issue.  Hope she is better soon.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, but it isn't at all uncommon with new puppies.  I can imagine how seeing the worms would be nasty...thank goodness we have not encountered that yet.  Do you know if the breeder wormed her previously?  I know that Guinness's breeder did two wormings before we even brought him home.

I hope she feels better soon.  There seem to be a lot of poop issues with our doodles.

Im not sure exactly... I just had a little freak out. She just went poop and there was actually worms in her poop... I was SHOCKED. I called the vet right away and they said that this basically means the medicine is working and to expect this for the next few bowel movements. PHEW!

What kind of parasites were they. Some like Coccidia , are very common in pups.
