My lil girl Ruston has had a very long week. Ruston is a very reactive puppy to everything, noises, movements, touches etc. which we are working on. Tuesday she had to go to the vet. Just getting her out the front door was a major deal. It took two people just to look in her ears and confirm what I already knew, a double ear infection. I mention to them that she was having her first trip to the groomer this week and they gave me some meds to help calm her.Thursday I gave her the meds before taking her to the groomer. Wasn't so bad getting her out the front door but still had to lift her into my doggie mobile...lol.. Once there she got out of the car just fine, getting her in the door was slightly more of a challenge.  The floor was different so she wasn't so sure of it but with encouragement she went inside. I did have to carry her to the cage and put her in with her stuffed bunny from home for comfort. She had such bad mats from the coat change that it was decided the best route was to do a complete shave and start from scratch. I know from reading all the posts and discussions that it will grow back. When I went to get her they said that she had problems at first but did better as the day wore on. She looks like a totally different dog a real naked doodle for sure. I can really see the poodle in her now. The other dogs at home were not so sure that this was really their little sister, but then decided Yes she was!  She is now resting getting ready for her next adventure to the vet next week to get spayed. I am not sure how to post before and after photos.

Thanks Adrienne. We will keep trying to expose her to new things. It is a long slow process, but she is worth it.

Ruston is such a cutie, before and after.  Keep exposing her to new things, she will get better.

Thank you all for the encouragement. She seems to be alright with her new look. Ava's mommy Ruston is around 15 months old now.

Poor little girl.  As you continue to expose her to new experiences, she will improve.

Sometimes it's rough being a pup : ) Photos : Go to the icons above you posts. The second one from the left is for photos, just follow the instructions. Since this is a blog, editing would require re approval so you could do it in a post.

I feel bad for her and you, but it sounds like she making some head way!  She is beautiful with or without her hair and it will grow back sooo fast!  Hang in there, you are a good Doodle Mommy!
