SH! Snuck on To Say Aloha!

Okay... so this post has confirmed what we already know.... I'm truly addicted!  I peeked, I glanced and I even took some time to make some quick comments while on vacation.  I missed 'seeing' all of you!  We were actually delayed in LA - originally it was for 30 minutes - then as the 30 minutes were up, they extended it for another 30, then an hour and on and on.   The total delay was for FOUR hours due to mechanical problems... they claimed it was the a/c, but I still was very apprehensive about getting back on the plane after that. We tried to get on the other 2 flights but couldn't. So all I had to do was wait.  As I sat and waited,and waited, and waited, and listened to the piped in airport music, I heard the song "Ave Maria".  THAT was enough to put me over the edge.... (those of you who are not Catholic have to know that this song usually plays during 2 ceremonies... weddings and funerals - lol.  l In fact, I often 'joke' with my best friend, who is a great singer, that she is in charge of singing this song for me at my funeral)  I half jokingly said to DH,  "all we need now is an earthquake" (then then the other day, I heard that LA had a tremor registering 3.2)  But....we made it and we're having a great time!  Needless to say Hawaii is beautiful!  We left Oahu yesterday and have arrived on Maui.  Wish I was more organized before I left and got to print out the Flat Doodle and take him along, but as my crazy life would have it, I didn't think quick enough. (sigh).  But I just wanted to pop on and say hello.  I'll be watching from a distance - ALOHA!

Cheryl - we wanted to take a day trip over to Hawaii, mostly to see the volcano, but it is inactive right now, and that trip would have eaten up an entire day - NEXT time. Where are you staying in Maui?  Last time we were here, was our honeymoon and we went to Oahu and Kaui.  This time we took the kids and went 3 days to Oahu and the rest of the days in Maui (more to do for the boys).  Actually considering what we went through to get here, the flight wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Funny thing - is that we purposely chose flights that would only take 12 hours and it wound up being almost 17.  We were up for like 23 hours straight with maybe a 20 minute nap... I feel like a new puppy... with the 6 hour time difference, we still have our days and nights mixed up!  LOL

Bonnie - WHY did you ever leave?  I'm thinking of staying myself! - LOL  Is that why you have a "Kona"?  It's so beautiful and so laid back!  Everyone is so wonderfully friendly!  Of course my most favorite spot is the beach and here I am surrounded by it - only with much more beautiful water than Long Island!

Aloha! We lived in Hawaii for 3 years when our children were little. My husband tells people I left my nail marks in the tarmac at the airport as he dragged me to the plane when we had to move back to the mainland. We go as often as we can afford it. It is my true home. Enjoy the aloha spirit and the incredible beauty of the islands.

We will be going to the Big Island of Hawaii and to Maui in November, we have been there many times, we just love it!!!!...Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!!....It's just the going and coming that get me...The flights are too long, lol, but it is worrth it...Have a wonderful time...Thanks for the puctures..
