We were feeling sorry for Kaylee, a Maltese mix rescue...

her front legs are short and stubby and her feet turn outward.  She seems to always have whites showing around her eyes and her ears are long and droopy. She also runs with a funny gate. Additionally, she is heavier boned than Maltese should be...

 

That is we "were" feeling sorry for this poor deformed dog until our friend remarked,  that's a cute Maltese-Basset Hound mix. Then it all came together.  She is not deformed, she is just showing the results of her heritage. We are now looking at her in a whole different light!

 

Kaylee is a sweet dog but, I will bet that the Malthound won't become a designer dog like our Doodles...
