It's not me.

My nearly 4 year old came into our room this morning and whispered that Rosco told her he wants a kitty.  We went along with it for a bit then she admitted she actually gave him this idea and "Mommy can we go to the pet store to look at kitties?"  My answer disappointed.  She then offered plan C: Let's go to the breeder and buy a puppy! Final negotiation was that when she turns 10 we can buy a puppy.  5 minutes later she brought me a piece of paper and marker so we could make a list of names for said way-far-into-the-future puppy.  Haha...she cracks me up!

Adina, watch out, she is one smart little four year old!  How cute and I hope her Plan C comes true, someday:)

I would love love love black & white but prob not a puppy.  If we decide to go from a 1 doodle house to a 2 doodle house, I will opt for a rescue.  Have my eye on one now, though not black/white but love his bio.  P.S.  I can't believe you have an almost 4 year old and did all that beautiful work on the calendars!  Kudos to you!!!

My friends' daughter wrote up a contract for her parents to sign. It outlined all of the things SHE would do with/for the puppy. She was a little older, maybe 12, but she lived up to everything in the contract, including lots of obedience stuff. The parents knew there weren't any real consequences to not living up to the contract (like giving up the dog), but they also knew their daughter, and knew she'd be hard on herself if she didn't live up to it. It still all falls on the parents, especially when the kid goes off to college, and they knew that, but they liked that she took it very seriously.

How adorable! When I picture a black and white puppy, I think I want one too!

I forgot to mention she wants a black-white goldendoodle!
And Laurie, I have no expectations my kids will actually be the main caregivers of said future puppy. But yeah this kid is smart!

Don't sign anything, Adina :) LOL They never forget. Take it from someone who promised a puppy to her daughter when we bought our first house. She was, coincidentally, ten :) It was her dog for all of one week and then became my dog :) Natalie cracks me up as well. She is one smart cookie :)
