My son-in-Law finally got his boat operational. It is a 38 foot 2005 Tiara. We have been waiting for this for months and went out today even though the weather wasn't great. A hurricane is skirting Southern California from Baja California, Mexico and we got into some pretty mucky weather. At one time we were caught in a 7 mile radius storm cell with lightning strikes all over.
Lucky his boat is fast and we took off at 25 knots (almost 29 miles per hour) to evade the storm cell. It was relatively disconcerting because many of our fishing rods are graphite composites which are perfect electrical conductors. However, despite the rain and lightning, the sea was relatively calm but the fishing was as bad as the weather. I caught the only fish out of the six of us on the boat; this Yellowfin tuna of about 20 Pounds. This is my son-in-law holding the tuna.
However, there will be many more fishing days and a good time was had by all.

Kind of scary weather, Richard, but what an exciting day. Of course, you caught the only fish - it's the rule! :-}
We used to fish Sitka AK every year and have so many wonderful memories. My husband still goes, but I have opted out the last couple of years. I am envious of you even if the weather was the pits! Great photo.
