I forgot about this picture when looking for something for this week's slide show, but came across it this morning! Sophie is absolutely crazy about birds! She doesn't want to hurt them, she just stares at them (well unless they are in her back yard). When we walk in Petsmart she pulls me straight over to the bird cages and she just stands and stares! That is where this picture was taken! People just laugh at her because she is so focused on the birds that you could lay a steak beside her and she wouldn't notice.

that is precious! My husband and sons hunt and my 14yo is training Ruger to retrieve his doves for next season. Though I was not fond of the idea AT ALL, now I watch Ruger train with my son and see that Ruger is indeed all about working for that job! I don't hold back my children, I won't do it with my dog either! Ruger doesn't want to 'eat' birds, but just wants to get them and 'bring' them to my son. One of the cats caught a bird last week and Ruger found it and brought it gingerly up to my son who was cleaning the garage and placed the bird by my son's feet and stood in ready position for his next command. gross to us girls, but my son couldn't have been prouder!

My mom also has a bird and that is where Sophie heads the minute we walk into the house. The problem is she puts her nose up to the cage and "Chico" can peck her nose so I always have to hold her back. Imagine my surprise on our 1st therapy visit to the Veterans home and I discover that they have a large bird Aviary on each wing ...... also a struggle to keep her distracted from that!

This is so funny. I need to take Peri next time I go to Petsmart. We usually go to little local stores that carry our food and they never have other animals for her to look at!

We stopped by the gerbil cage at Petsmart last time...Wilson put his paws up on the glass to peer at them..they looked VERY nervous to me!! lol

At the food store we go to there is a huge parrot - Samantha just sits and looks and Charli can't figure out whether or not to be afraid! Too funny!

How cute! Rosco is mesmerized by all the little critters in cages at the pet store--but I think he wants to eat them :-O

We visit the little critters in Pet smart too. I don't know how they'd fare if the dogs could "play" with them.
