Stew comes home in less than 12 hours!!

I can't believe today is finally here! It's just past 1 am in Philly now & Stewart will be here in 12 hours!

I've read a lot, 3 books to be exact, that were recommended to me by friends & members of DK. I studied crate training, potty training, basic commands etc as I want training to start as soon as possible. I feel prepared, have everything ready in my apartment. Have collar, leash, trashbags, poop bags, travel water container, carrier for the car & a snuggle puppy ready to go. Hopefully if the pups, mom & dad play with it, get their scent on it, it'll ease the transition!!

Over 2 years of waiting for the perfect timing & about 18 years in the making since I've wanted a dog, I'm getting my guy and I did it ALL MYSELF. Researched breeds, breeders, saved a lot of money to afford purchase price, supplies, pet insurance, then educated myself on training, bought all the supplies, set up my apartment, now it's less than 12 hours away!

Once I get onto my computer before I leave tomorrow, I'll post pictures of all my preparations! Of course, I'll post a bunch once I get my guy!

So happy for you Jess...can't even imagine your excitement after waiting so long.  Good for you for being so prepared. Stewart is lucky to be coming into a home where he will be loved and taken care of.  Just remember that you could read every book ever written and it's never like experiencing it first hand.  Puppies are a lot of work, but are worth every moment.  The challenges of puppyhood only last for a short period of time and with constant & persistent training you will have the most loving & well-behaved dog.  Can't wait for you to post lots of pics of your new pup...Enjoy your new puppy & remember we will all be here to help you in anyway we can along the way!
