Last Thursday I dropped Rooney off at his pet sitter for his first ever overnight. I needed to fly early on Friday to help my daughter pack up her home as she is relocating to Atlanta. I planned to fly home today, Monday. I cried when I dropped Rooney off, I knew he would be happy with Linda - he stays during the day sometimes if I golf but I'd never left him for a night let alone 4 nights. Well I got to MI and every thing went well, we got things packed and loaded in a day with lots of help so when I heard the weather was taking a bad turn and I had to drive DH to the airport on Sunday - I decided to try to get outta here early to beat the storm. Was at the South Bend airport from 2 - 11:30 p.m. and neither of us could get out. Now I'm stranded in a blizzard in Michigan with out my Rooney Doodle. The sitter is being so sweet, and she adores Rooney but she is having to go buy him a bag of Orijen today as she is going to run out soon and who knows when I'll get home. Rooney - mommy is coming if I have to drive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish me luck - we are scheduled out on a flight tonight at 5:30 p.m. but it isn't looking good. Missing my boy :(

Wishing you luck getting out ..... just read on line about Northwest Indiana and they are searching for people stranded on the highways up there it is such a mess! I'm sure Rooney will be fine, but think I'd stay put until you can get out safely! P.S. I think I hear little Rooney saying "Yeah Mom, that will teach you to leave me behind!". lol. He is probably having the time of his life!
Oh Jane we are in MI and it is terrible!! FREEZING!!! Good luck getting home! Rooney will be so happy to see you! I am leaving my babies for the first time next week and I am soooo not looking forward to it!
That's a shame that your are stranded. Try and relax knowing that Rooney is in good hands. I live on the border of SE Michigan and it IS pretty nasty out.
Sending positive thoughts your way that get home as quick as possible.
Hope you get home soon, Rooney must be missing you as much as you miss him. Sounds like you are doing your own version of Home Alone, where the mom is trying to get back to her son, the difference being you know Rooney is in good hands. Doodle hugs from Quincy until you can get home and get your own. Take care.
There are a few things to be thankful for - the last time (over Thanksgiving) that I flew here - Rooney flew too. It would be a real horror to have him go through this too. I'd have to try to keep in the carrier for too many hours so at least I know he isn't going through that. Also the dog sitter is a really great gal who adores him and I know that they are having great fun. I just want those doodle kisses for myself - lol. Ugh. Winter, Michigan = nightmare. Cross your fingers that I get out tonight. Once DH gets out, he is trying to get to NYC, so goes his laptop. I didn't bring mine so I'll be out of the loop. Miss you all. Jane
What a nightmare, Jane. I know you must be missing your little Rooney so much. Just think about how great it will feel when you're back home safe and sound with your Doodle baby!
