How is it that so many of these playful doodles in the slideshow have intact stuffed animals and my grand-doodle (1yr old) Marley can eat a cloth Kong toy to shreds in 20 mins? And forget about ANYTHING with stuffing!!!!! Is that something you can teach them NOT to do?

I was just thinking about the empty water bottle today as I crushed one and threw it away, that I bet a pup would love to tear this up. Must be safe then. That's easy and cheap enough. Now, what does Comiskey do with the cap after she gets it off??????

When Comiskey was a pup and teething we wet washcloths, twisted them, and froze them.....she never chewed on any furniture...clothes or any thing else....fast forward...I satisfied her chewing urge so much that now she loves to chew......we have a basket of stuffed toy parts....when she feels like playing she gets a "chewy" as we call them and she throws them at us and we throw them back.....but the real biggy is she can unscrew caps on empty water bottles!.....it used to take an hour sooooo she was very entertained.....now it takes about 5 minutes.....no matter how hard the cap is on......moral of the story.....no matter what YOU think is a great toy....the doodle will repurpose......

We get our 8 wk old doodle next week, Feb.13th. I will have to wait to see how aggressive he is with his chew toys and maybe offer one non-stuffed and see how it goes. I've seen the Siberian Tiger Toys....The company just hadn't met Ranger huh?

Ranger is the toughest chewer on the planet. I went to the pet store purchased a harder than average flat withouth squeeker, double stitched, tested by Siberian Tiger toys....but guess it was pulled apart!!! So we have decided this is just the way it is....they are so cute watching and the enjoyment of the new toy is worth it. The no stuffing flat toys are better, of course we still bite out the squeekers and then have a tattered flat toy!!!

I think its an optical illusion. What you don't know is the intact stuffed toys were brand new and 5 minutes after those photos were taken there was only formerly stuffed, now gutted toys to be found! LOL
My doodles both kill stuffies in 5 minutes or less.

Thanks ladies, I think I'll start with a non-stuffed plush toy and see what happens. My goal in life is to have a doodle like Jane's!!!!! SO I want it to get all it's chewing on appropriate things and if they NEED softer toys to get that fullfillment then I am there!!!!. Thanks again
