Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
With sad heartbreaking news our sweet beautiful intelligent silly best friend passed away from bloat 2 months shy of her 11th birthday. She was the love of our life and moving on has been so hard. I haven't posted in years on DK and just now have figured out how to get back to posting. I did inform some of the people I know here through Facebook. Graciedoodle was in the best of health, perfect athletic weight and very agile. We have known about bloat since the day we brought her home so always took the necessary precautions against playing or activities after eating or drinking. Our vet told us it can happen in older deep chested dogs due to the lenghtening of muscles and ligaments the stomach can get sloppy and sway around more. Just a quick movement as jumping up on the bed or turning wrong can cause bloat (hard to believe it is that easy). Gracie died in my arms at 3 am on the way to the ER.
We now are waiting for a new little girl to be born any day. I know it is soon but when you both are in your 70s you need to not spend time "thinking about it". We loved Graciedoodle so much and need to keep loving a beautiful Doodle girl.

Gracie Doodle was one of our most beloved DK Doodles. Her/your page brought us to DK. Her life and "song" were an inspiration. I'm so sorry to hear that she has passed over the bridge. My heart goes out to you during this devastating time but I know that a new puppy will show you her unique personality plus some of Gracie Girl's most endearing traits.I really believe they never really leave us. Instead they watch over us. Hugs!
I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet GracieDoodle. My heart goes out to you.
Nancie I am so saddened to hear about Graciedoodle. Sending my deepest condolences.
Nancie, Im so sorry. Graciedoodle was a beauty and Im sure she knew how very much she was loved! Getting a puppy is not something to be apologized for. It is a testament to the love that you shared and cant live without. Please share your new puppy with us when she is born.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Nancie.
So glad to hear you are opening your heart to another puppy. Gracie would love that you are getting another dog. Enjoy.
So sorry to hear the news. It’s so hard to lose those we love. Doodlekisses to you. ❤️
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Graciedoodle. She was such a special dog. Enjoy your new puppy!
Such a gorgeous creature you were able to have "grace" your life. So sad they can't live longer. Good for you going on and getting another doodle to love...I'm sure GracieDoodle would certainly approve!
My heart hears and feels with yours. What a shock and so sad. Being in our 70s we did not wait much after Roo's death in Dec of last year and brought our darling puppy Murphy home on Jan 6. I am so glad we did not wait, it helped to fill the hole in my heart. Interestingly Murphy looks like a small Gracie. Hoping your new puppy is as amazing as Murphy and helps you heal also.
