The Bed - UPDATE

[Jane, Guinness and Murphy]

You've all been hearing that our Murph is getting to be a BIG boy. Well he could no longer fit in any of our dog beds without either his head or his "fanny" hanging off the side. So, when we were in Newport last week we headed for the Black Dog store. They had just what we needed....a huge bed for Murph that actually matched the bedroom. We brought it home thinking he would love it...NOPE, not so much. Here it is....nice right?

He refuses to sleep here....now he will only sleep on our bed, and preferably on my side of the bed. Here's the big guy...

Are you getting the idea that he thinks this bed is his?

Here he is on MY side...Trying to move him is almost impossible. He digs in and won't budge.

He's hates the couch pillows, but he's loving the ones on the bed....

This one is just perfect for his chin. It's hard to hold a big Doodle head up all day. A guy needs his rest.

While Murph is making himself very comfortable on Mom & Dad's bed, Guinness is just watching from the floor. He's too small to jump up there himself. Life is sad for the little guy, because Mom's not always around to get him up!

UPDATE:
I can't believe what just happened. We just went in to make our bed, and we found that Guinness had "marked" the corner of the bed coverings. From the position of the "pee" he must have lifted his leg and gone right on the bedspread and comforter at the corner of the bed. He has been marking outside for the past few weeks (since he learned how to lift his leg), but NEVER inside. How bizarre. I'm thinking this must be has way of saying that the bed is his "territory" which is probably stemming from frustration over the fact that Murphy can get up there whenever he wants, and Guinness can't. I need the stairs FAST. Anyone else have a Doodle that has marked things inside the house?

I don't have any suggestions, but Murphy is OUTRAGEOUSLY cute.

Guinness looks so sad, can't he get his little brother to give him a boost. That's what brothers do! Help get each other into trouble.

I think the only solution is to give Murphy your bed and you move on to his. Quincy also doesn't sleep on the bed I bought him but prefers the floor and our bed for short periods. He gets up in the middle of the night and you know he's there when you try to straighten your legs and hit a brick wall.

I too understand, Ollie loves to jump on our bed and settle in, we let him and play with him a bit, and then I get a treat, and he sees it and goes right into his crate for the night. Ollie loves our pillows too on the bed, he buries his head under them,and just loves to cuddle with us, if one of us gets up, he is right there to take our place, head on the pillow, just as comfy as can be, lol...But he is a crate sleeper at night for bed, thank goodness, he is too big to be in our bed all night, lol...I also bought him a wonderful comfty mattress for his crate, he pushes it up ( it is light) and he sleeps under it or half on or half off it...Silly Doodle, but ya got to love em...

I do understand! Fortunately, Luca ,who is smaller is the one who stays on the bed. Calla comes and, thankfully, goes. She has a habit of hopping right in my spot if I get up to go to the bathroom. I then turn her over, which is easier than lifting her, to sneak back in.

These two are too cute! Sounds like Murph is related to Tori... we felt so bad that she lies in a crate at night and bought her a big pillow too.... Nah... doesn't really care for it... she'll lie on it sometimes, but she too prefers OUR bed and actually puts her head on our pillow like a person.. BTW~ I love your bed coverings!!!
