Why am I here?

Of course first and foremost, I am here because I am a Doodle owner.  That's a given, right? But I've been a dog owner for twenty years and have never dipped a toe into a site like this before.  So, why now? 

Because my Rooney has turned me into someone even I do not recognize.  My sister, who has always been the true blue animal lover of the family, can hardly contain her amusement/shock when I prattle on about the latest dog book I've read, or my ridiculously amateur theories on dog training and obedience.  My husband, who has always taken the lead on caring for our dogs, has been nothing short of giddy/puzzled by my total, unwavering commitment toward being the primary caregiver for our new little furry child. And my friends, initially enamored by the unquestionable cuteness of our new pup, are now starting to shake their heads and wonder why I am still so smitten with the little guy after almost 3 months of housetraining, nipping, and endless poop piles in the backyard.

What is it about this little Doodle that he has gotten me so wrapped around his little paw?

So, the truth is, I am here because this might be the only place where I can show my true colors and be the Crazy Puppy Lady that I have become.  Maybe then I can keep my secret identity under wraps a little better in my day to day life and my friends and family won't feel the need to stage an intervention over my puppy addicted ways.

I am also here (another confession) because my lurking behavior on this site over the past month started to feel creepy. :) I have learned so much and so enjoyed hearing from other Doodle crazy owners that it started to feel somehow deceitful not to go ahead and jump in with both feet.

So, when I post photos and nauseatingly gush over my pup here, I trust my secret as The Crazy Puppy Lady will be safe. Thank you for this haven for Doodle addicts everywhere!

Welcome Lori!   It always warms my heart to meet another like minded "Crazy Puppy Lady"....OH and give your hubby time.....my tough guy, retired cop husband is the BIGGEST moosh going!   I don't know what it is a Doodles...their ridiculously adorable looks and personalities has to be the key!

Joan- I am completely afraid that a second doodle may be in my future someday. Right now we are still blessed to have our 8 year old Golden Retriever, Reagan, but I know we may only have another couple of years with him (his health is not great).  I fear what I may do in my sorrow after he is gone! 

Jane- I was so surprised when I saw your Rooney since I've never run into any other dog with that name.  Another true confession: our Rooney is named for Wayne Rooney who is a famous British soccer player for Manchester United.  He's a brilliant soccer player who is a terrible cad in real life. LOL But soccer is BIG in our household so we thought it would be fun to give our new buddy some sort of soccer name and Rooney ended up winning the most votes.  We love it!

Everyone else- Again, thank you for sharing my craziness and giving me a place to blab about my sweet puppy! Good heavens, what has happened to me.... ;)
