Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We have a fabulous dog park here in Jax. It is 42 acres of fenced in areas that are seperated into play areas for small dogs, senior dogs, kids and dogs, agility nature trails and then the mack daddy area with walking trails and open play areas with a pond.
I was really apprehensive about taking Bailey to the park because of some of the horror stories I have heard about dog parks. But I thought I would at least give it a good try. We started off meeting the nicest couple who had the nicest shepard mix boys. They were new too so we put Bailey and the boys in a smaller area to run off some energy and to get aquainted, Perfect. They played really nice together.
I then took Bailey to the off leash area where the pond was. She had a blast and was so well mannered and respectful of all the other dogs spaces. She meet up with a 8 month old doodle that was the sweetest girl. Her new little boy playmates were close by so I think she felt safe with them so she went off on her won to explore. She kept a close eye on me to make sure she didn't get to far away...If she only knew how close of an eye I had on her LOL!
Then there was the ultimate test...the pond. she has only been in the water once and that was at the beach and she only got in "knee" deep. she watcher her new playmate Reese-doodle fetch a ball and swim. So I started off slowly and threw it a litle way in then kept going further and further......Next thing you know, she is dunking her head under the water and swimming like a fish...
I think I am the proudest doodle mom ever tonight... And my poor girl is one pooped pouch...
I added pictures and a video seperately. For some reason I can't attach them to blog posts
