The Dreaded Cookie Party!

This is Fudge checking in this week. My mom is having a cookie party this weekend and she has been doing nothing but cleaning and baking. We are fed up! Vern wasn't here last year for the last cookie party, so he doesn't know what it is all about yet. She says she loves this party, but she yells a lot the week before. Vern is pretty messy, so she seems even grumpier this year. We are bored, so we have been making our own fun and today, we figured out how to knock the gate (well, is it just a plastic lid) down so we could run down the basement steps and chase the cat. We didn't know we tracked mud everywhere until mom yelled, "Fudge and Vern, get up here right now!" and then she said some bad words when she saw the mud. After that, she said we were taking a break and going for a walk, but first she had to mail a doodle card all the way to The Netherlands and we had to go to the post office. Right before she went in, she told us that maybe she should pretend she thought it said Doodle exchange and mail us to The Netherlands. When she came out though, she was smiling and said they didn't have a box big enough for Vern. Vern started kissing her and mom kept laughing and said, "Why do I love you guys so much?"

Hey, isn't it Quincy who is up in the Netherlands? Is that who you Mom was thinking of shipping you to? It would be a fun trip...for a week maybe. But then I would want to come back home.

You guys are so lucky! I bet a cookie or two will fall on the floor and yum yum. Of course I've never had a cookie - my mom says she loves to bake them but because she is chubby - she doesn't make them anymore - sigh. The Netherlands would be very cold so I know that I wouldn't like but I bet your mom won't send you - you are too cute and besides - it would cost a whole bunch in postage. Rooney

Clifford, Vern is a sissy too. Today, he barked at our kayak for a long time. He was scared of it. I would miss him, though, if he went to the Netherlands and I bet you would miss your foster brother too. Vern likes to play, so I guess I will keep him around. Also, Vern makes me look real good most of the time. Fudge

Fudge and Vern, Clifford here and I totally feel your pain. Last week was Thanksgiving and we had to be extra neat and tidy and that meant no playing rough in the yard and bringing in mud and this week the foster dood had surgery so we haven't been able to play again (he's a sissy, I think)! What's a doodle to do but try to invent cool and fun games to keep us occupied? I sure hope your Mom makes cookies for you at this party. Now tell me about how to mail a doodle to the Netherlands, I'm sure I can find a box to hold my foster brother! (Don't tell my mom, she thinks I'll be okay with him if he stays.)
