The Great Ones Contest

A couple of weeks ago I came across a post about Petco's contest that was supposed to celebrate the owners, named The Great Ones. You were to submit a written story or a video that would show why you are a great pet owner. It had been going on since March and closed at the end of August. The grand prize was $50,000 for the owner and an equal prize for a selected animal shelter. Each month Petco chose 10 finalists who would compete for the grand prize. So I looked at the finalists from each month, mulled it over, and came up with a scenario. Since I only had about a week to submit my entry, I took a couple of days off from work. Well, unfortunately, we did not make the cut (my DH was really hoping to buy a new bed mattress so I guess it'll have to wait). You can see the finalists on Petco's Facebook page and the grand prize winner will be announced on September 9th. As I said, it won't be us, but that's okay. Perhaps we took the topic too lightly and had too much fun without having a sob story. That's okay. I would still rather win the lottery to help Doodle Rescue Collective.
