I just wanted to warn you all that this storm that's coming your way is really fierce. We had 3 feet of snow on the weekend, but even though this is less snow it is much worse. The winds are awful, we can barely get our front door open because of them. If you have anything outside that can blow away, you might want to bring it in or tie it down. Stay home, keep warm, and be safe!

yep. nyc schools closed today. they were closed 1 day in 2009 and once in 2004. usually my S.I. Chuck is right. Well maybe this is the last "dump" before the spring arrives. Duncan and i just ran around in the woods for a while. the snow is now up to his belly. i need to go out with my video camera. it's hysterical to see him frolic like a rabbit

Thanks for the warning. It's coming down fast and furious in Northern NJ and has been for hours. Darn Staten Island Chuck. Punxatawney Phil was right when he saw his shadow. So ready for spring.

In Southern Ohio it is nothing like VA, DC etc., but we have plenty. I've shovelled the driveway twice this morning ..... who needs a gym membership with all this junk! We've probably got about a foot over the last 2 days! I let the girls out to play yesterday for 5 mins and this is what came back to me! Sophie was just as bad. Lucy was hopping like a bunny because she couldn't walk normally, but I had to chase her down to get her to come in! Normally I just let them melt, but Lucy was so confused with what was wrong with her feet I had to put them in the bathtub and hose them down. They will be staying inside today.

I know what you mean Michele. We only got 4-5 inches over night down our way, but a lot of drifting. Our daughter got more in Rockville. About 9" and a lot of wind. Stay safe out there in WV.

We're fine Rose! This storm took us by surprise, because the predicted snowfall amounts were much less than the last one...we thought "what's the big deal?" Now we know, which is why I wanted to give you all a heads-up.
