Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Well, my wife is taking all three our three daughters and all our grandchildren to Disney World Florida in June. Leaves me with my one of my daughters pleas of tending to her golden retriever. Not that hot on that scenario!. She brought Bailey over yesterday, as a trial/test of how things will go. At this point, it is a riot. They play so good/hard together, Golden is so good about not crushing the doodle with her paws. They play so hard, that they are panting all the time. I do not exercise Riley as I should, with this combination of the two it is great. Kid's are picking up Bailey tomorrow night, and Riley has a romp Sat. plus our family March birthday dinner that night. I think he will be tuckered out by Sat. night.

Maybe a 2nd Doodle in your future???? Riley will miss his buddy when they go home....and you will miss all the zoomies.

I'm betting that you're going to love this experience. You may even be looking for a brother or sister for Riley. I'm kidding, but not really. The past three weeks (since we got our puppy), Guinness has been happier than I've ever seen him. He absolutely LOVES having another dog to play with. They play hard....and sleep hard. I just love watching the two of them...nothing like double zoomies. Let us know how it works out.

Ok, whether you know it or not, you got the best end of this deal --- Having spent 10 years in FL, given the option of taking 3 daughters and all the grandchildren to Disney in June or staying home and taking care of the Golden Retriever = I'm picking staying at home. Disney in June is going to be 2 things: (1) CROWDED and (2) HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT and did I mention HOT! During our 10 years I went to Disney one time and you guessed it, it was JUNE! My nieces were visiting and it was so hot that we just kept going into the bathrooms and getting paper towels and wetting them down and putting them on their necks to cool them down. After that visit, anytime someone came to visit us and wanted to go to Disney we said here is a map on how to get there, see you when you get back! Only thing worse than Disney in June is Disney in July or August! My advice to wife is go in the early morning, go back to hotel during mid day and afternoon and swim and then go back to park in the evening. Don't buy to many days upfront. My brother came and he bought passes for 4 days. By day 4, the kids were saying do we really have to go today! They were there in July. I'm sure they will have a wonderful time though.

Riley is a diplomat of sorts. He charges hard, but if challenged will back off and submit. But usually gets his licks in, retreats and then goes in again like nothing happened.

You will have a blast watching them play. Don't worry about Riley - he can take care of himself.
