Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Only other Doodle owners will understand.  I believe Kahlua has now figured out the gate and the bedroom door.  I am out of town a lot and DH is home with the dogs.  Remember her a week or so ago finding her way to our bedroom during the Fourth of July fireworks.  Well a storm came through Tuesday night, and DH wakes up to find Kahlua looking at him nose to nose.  Still can't believe it, but he had her jump in bed with him, WAIT, he had to help her get into the bed.  She was very agiated and kept circling around until she found her spot.....her butt on the pillow next to his head.  I guess she figured he could pet her better from that position??????  Next thing he knows, it's 1:45 am in the morning, storms have passed and both are passed out.  He takes her back downstairs, noting the gate is latched and can't figure out how she opened it, walks her to the couch and "puts her to bed".  My daughter works the night shift and she calls me at 5:00pm the very next day and says that Kahula in bed with her (as thunder is rumbling in the background).  My daugther asks, how did she get through the gate?  Still a mystery.  I happen to have been home last night.  I purposefully left the gate unlatched to see if she would come upstairs during the night.  Would you believe it?  She didn't.  She knows when she needs comfort.  She is something else!

Hi Celeste, my gosh this year the fireworks frightened our Calvin more than when he was a baby. I had 2 wrk on 4th so I asked 2 bring him along.

You know I didn't even think that she may be actually jumping over the gate.  I've never seen her jump over anything.  She is just a laid back dog that she kinda just saunters anywhere.  Now when I have the opportunity to let her run loose, she flies, but jump?  Oh my goodness.......

Kahula is like Rua...I can leave her crate unlatched at night and she doesn't leave it.  In the morning it will be open 3-4 inches, but Rua is still there.

What a smart doodle....she probably jumped the gate, but didn't want your DH to catch on, so she let him put her on the bed. LOL

Doods are almost too smart - can she jump that high?

Maybe she is a jumper.  My Gracie Doodle is a beautiful jumper and can easily clear 4 feet from a stand still!
