While in Florida this past February we had many wonderful days on the beach.  The best part of our vacation was tthat the beach was wonderfully dog friendly. and it seemed almost everyone there had a dog!   Everyday was a wonderful adventure with new people and dogs to meet!   Banjo was in heaven!   Happy Dog = Happy Dog Parents!

One afternoon towards the end of our stay Banjo and I were walking the beach and encountered a woman with her young son and - get this - a nine day old baby lamb!   It's not everyday you see a family and their lamb on the beach....at first I thought it was just an odd looking dog.   I asked if we could stop and say hello to which she replied "yes".   Banjo never blinked an eye....he gave this little guy a couple of sniffs,, I allowed him more leash and he and the lamb started prancing about with each other.  Once I was sure Banjo wasn't going to be too rough or crazy I let him off leash.   It was the cutest thing I've ever seen...the two of them romping around together.   The little lamb was quite fast and Banjo really seemed to enjoy chasing him.   Of course.....I DIDN'T have my camera!!!!   ARGH!    I must have lugged that camera up and down the beach nearly everyday...but not this day!

The woman explained that she'd come down to take Easter Photos, she took many pics of the two of them and said she'd email me pics.    Neither of us had paper and pencil,  she said she thought she'd remember my email.   It seems her memory is about as good as mine.   I  would have loved to see these pics and share!

The lamb was just darling.  She said he was house broken.  When he has to "go" he goes to the door and lays down.

He's a "house" lamb and sleeps on her sons bed...LOL.    I have no experience with lambs and had no idea people kept them inside as pets but this little guy was so cute I can understand why you'd want to.

How very strange and what a sight that must have been.  I'm wondering what happens when the lamb becomes a sheep.... At nine days old that lamb should have been with it's mama and however cute it must of looked I can't help wondering whether this is in fact a good idea at all...  Does she groom the lamb and does it shed or just end up in a shed, just kidding(or should that be lambing)?!!!! : )

Hmmm I wonder if Murph would be "lamb reactive"?????

@Julie, LOL, the other lady had a camera. That little lamb will grow up to be a not so cute sheep, walking a lamb cute and adorable, walking a sheep, not so much.

Julie, The Lamb's "mother" had the camera.....she was supposed to remember my email...LOL...it would have been perfect to take a pic of it written in the sand.       And, no, the lamb wasn't on a leash at all....it followed them from their car down on to the beach.   The cutest thing I've ever seen!

Hmmmm....Laurie had a little lamb...little lamb...little lamb....     Don't lambs grow up to be sheep?   Then what?  This poor little guy will probably end up out in the barn....no more soft bed....no more long walks on the beach...

Oh how cute.  As a child I played in pastures with lambs but haven't ever seen one walking (on a leash, I assume??)    To Donna - your idea is a good one but if she had a camera to take a picture of the email in the sand, she could use that same camera to take pictures of the lamb/Banjo.  LOL!    (just teasing ya).

Why didn't I get two well behaved lambs? LOL

Now Donna....why didn't I think of that?!   What a great idea!    The lamb was just adorable - when the little boy would call him he came running.  (Much better recall than you-know-who!)

I saw a woman walking two goats up at the Rail Trail, but never a lamb....LOL! Another reason why I can't understand how people eat lamb or veal. Never for me! I wish you had gotten some pictures. Maybe she will remember. Glad you all had a good time.

That must have been so adorable and not something you see every day. Too bad about the pics it would have been wonderful to see them. Next time write you e-mail address in the sand and take a pic of it. :>) I really wish I could see those pictures, Banjo and the lamb cavorting around, priceless.
