While in Florida this past February we had many wonderful days on the beach. The best part of our vacation was tthat the beach was wonderfully dog friendly. and it seemed almost everyone there had a dog! Everyday was a wonderful adventure with new people and dogs to meet! Banjo was in heaven! Happy Dog = Happy Dog Parents!
One afternoon towards the end of our stay Banjo and I were walking the beach and encountered a woman with her young son and - get this - a nine day old…

The week has been unseasonably mild here in NH, with temps in the 60's. We've been able to get a jump on yard work - which is a great thing as we never quite finished our fall clean-up. When we're unable to keep a constant eye on Banjo, we'll tether him to the front porch. He can sit up on the porch, or down on the driveway. There's one stubborn patch of ice that remains and THAT is where Banjo gets comfy! …

Today I found out just what Banjo's made of. Just as I'd suspected...he's completely "opportunistic". This morning I took him out to the backyard to play in the snow. After a good 30 minutes of tossing snowballs for him we headed for the back door. I didn't have a leash on him and so I held his collar and started on to the ice slicked patio to the door. Well,…

WOW! How is it possible that Banjo is just 2 years old.....it seems like he's been a part of our family forever! I don't think a day passes where either DH or I don't comment about what a wonderful dog he is and how lucky we are to have him in our life. Banjo - You are the BEST!

I'm just a proud Mom. My 31 year old daughter just crossed the finish line in the Panama City Beach Ironman Triathalon with a time of 10:54. Started this morning with a 2.4 miles swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finished with a 26 mile run. I got to watch the coverage live online.....just saw her smiling face cross the finish! Go Shaina!!!!!!
OK.....I'm done. Thanks for letting me show my pride : )

We do have real moose here in NH - more often spotted north of us, but there is a neighborhood moose that has caught Banjo's attention since he was just a puppy. It used to be whenever we passed this guy Banjo would politely sniff his hind quarters and then play bow around him for several minutes. Now that he's older and wiser (?) he'll just stop to say hello. I have always wished I'd gotten pics of him sniffing the moose's butt....it was just too funny!…

Today my co-worker and I were exchanging "dog stories" and she told me about her very best friend in Georgia who just rescued a goldendoodle puppy. She was so excited for her friend as this little puppy will eventually be an Assistant Dog for the friends disabled daughter. As she was sharing this with me I couldn't help but think....hmmmm....rescued goldendoodle....Georgia..... Could this possibly be from the same litter that our Jane & Rooney is getting their little…

We've spent the past few weeks on the road with Banjo. Beginning with a stop on Long Island to visit DH's family. DMIL reluctantly agreed to have Banjo stay at her home while we visited. I know it was a HUGE deal for her to agree to have a dog in her house.....she is NOT a "dog lover" and has, for years, openly stated "NO dogs allowed". We brought Banjo's crate (as much for him as for her) and he slept in our room at night. During the day I kept him on leash and while we…

Sitting down to do the taxes this morning...and out of the corner of my eye I see the bird feeder going down....!?!?!
I didn't think the wet and heavy snow that had been falling all morning could do it.......
This guy hung around for quite a while....and Banjo REALLY wanted to go out and play with him....but was entertained watching him from the window.
Guess who WON'T be doing "poop patrol" for a while?!…

Who knows how Banjo found out that it's that time of year....but last nite he indulged in a nice plate of waffles with syrup.
DH had just put a plate of waffles drenched in butter and maple syrup on the table (night time snack for himself) and went back into the kitchen to tease me (something he does relentlessly!)....well...he got his payback ...thanks to my little buddy Banjo! When he returned to his plate....guess who got there…

It's been almost a year now since we got Banjo and in that time he's been our constant companion..traveling, vacationing, etc. In a few weeks we will need to be away for a couple of nights and won't be able to have Banjo accompany us. We found a wonderful woman who owns a 30acre horse farm. Three acres are fenced just for her dogs. In addition to "doggie daycare" she also will take 2-3 dogs at a time overnite. The dogs are not kenneled at all and are free to sleep where ever they…

Neighbors are shaking their heads today, wondering what may have caused the "nice dog" next door to viciously attack his favorite playmate. Due to the dog's age, authorities are not releasing his/her name. There is…

Banjo and I took a long walk this morning on our heavily sanded road. Fortunately, because we live by the lake our road isn't salted too. On returning home I did my best to clean his paws and legs of the wet sand. UGH!!! What a mess!
I decided that his paws and legs needed a good trimming. So I brought out a nice frozen Kong and the vacuum cleaner.
I would stop and vacuum up the trimmings and sandy mess as I went. Luckily Banjo isn't bothered by the vacuum. Well,…

Banjo had a lot of fun taking his test tonite and was rewarded nicely afterwards with his favorite home made liver treats and lots of hugs!
I wasn't sure he'd pass his tests....as he still gets so VERY excited seeing all his friends at "school". But once we got there and I began working with him...doing his heeling, sits and stays...he got right into it and by the time his turn came to test he was ready to go! I think he's still too young and excitable to do any therapy work just…
