We brought Vern home on 3/27/10 and he is such a good puppy. He is, however, not a watchdog. Today, he spent half the morning growling and barking at his reflection in our fireplace window. If Fudge barks at something out the window, he runs in the opposite direction and only goes to investigate when he thinks the coast is clear. In puppy class, when they allow the puppies to play, he runs all around trying to find someone with treats in his or her pockets. Quite often, I have to wake him up in class to practice what we are learning. Some of the other puppy owners comment about what a calm puppy he is and I think to myself Fudge is in trouble when we get home. Sure enough, within minutes of arriving home he is pulling her ears, catapulting off the couch on top of her, and just this week the humping has begun. He seems to think my couch is a launching pad for his Fudge attacks. I should film this and show the class what my "calm dog" looks like when we get home. Almost every night, he sneaks into the closet and grabs my husband's Crocs and takes off like a bat out of hell to his bed with his treasure. I can't wait to find out what he weighs today at the Vet's office, because the boy can eat. We only crated him at night for about a week and now he sleeps all night on our bedroom floor and no accidents. Last night, after a busy day, he fell asleep at 8 and did not get up until 6 am. Pretty good for a pup. No complaints here. He is such a sweet boy!
