Traveler was sound asleep on the bed this morning, and I was talking to him, 'ya know, sharing world events and daily happenings, when I tossed in the phrase 'wanna go for a walk?'  Just to see if he was REALLY listening to me.  Yup.  He was instantly on high alert.  He's so cute when he hears that phrase!  Tilts his head, stares intently into my eyes--did I really mean what he just heard?  So we had to go for a walk in the nearby park, where he got a cookie from Kaye, the cookie lady, who does cleanup in the park and makes home-baked treats for all the dogs (though she thinks Trav is special, and he sits so nicely in front of her, waiting for his treat), and he got to play fetch with Cedar and Lulu, two doggie friends who are often there in the early morning.  Far from a high-drama morning, but a typical one, and one of the little time-capsules I've come to love sharing with the dood.

How sweet that he knows, and I agree - it is the simple things that bring us peace.

That is so cute:) I love talking to my dood. Some people think that is weird. One time there was a little girl and her mom that came into our shop to do a self service bath and I started talking to their dog and the girl looked at me like I was pickles on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. hahaha:) I didn't think it was that weird.

Deanna, I do the spelling thing too, just like we did when the kids were little!  FP, that's just so true.  So much of life is filler, rather than really high or really low, and Trav makes the filler fun.  Thanks, Sue.  He is a cutie--most of the time, anyhow.  :)

It's amazing how well our doodles really do listen to us - and understand so much of what we say.  My husband and I are often having to spell things so we don't trigger a response in Sedona when we can't follow through just yet.

Doodles can be great companions and ways of turning ordinary days into enjoyable times.
