I know many of us have had issues with dog parks, but there are some nice ones out there and I wanted to share that we live very close to one of the good ones. I hope it continues to be a positive experience for us as we are within walking distance of this park. It used to be the city landfill and the whole recreation center was built with all recycled materials, which I think was pretty creative and thrifty of the city to do.
It is elevated so that you have a 360 degree panaramic view of the surrounding neighborhood, which is where we live. Plus the surrounding mountains.
This is the Murphy and Bella Welcoming Committee as dogs come into the gate:
This is the little ol man that Bella looks for to get a free scratch from. She's such a flirt!
THey make lots of new friends.
"Not sure what this is mom, but it smells like a dog". Can I pick her up and see if she squeaks?"
Look Murph....This guy kinda looks like me.....
Well, guess we should head on home....over here mom!!!
And look, there's that scary dinasour, it doesn't fool me anymore, I know it's stuck in the sand and not gonna get me!
All in all, our trips to the park have been great adventures. Wish everyone had the same experiences.Comment
Every time I take my dogs to a different dog park, I spend my whole time thinking of the dog park that I would design. None of the parks around here have anything but a wee bit of grass, and a lot of dirt. No toys, nothing to climb on or jump over, just a square fenced area with not much shade. b.o.r.i.n.g.
Does anyone want to donate land so that I can make the most awesome dog park in Tucson, Az?
