What do you do with your Doodle puppy in the rain?

It's been raining non-stop for days in CT, and we are expecting it will be another six days before we see any sun. Indoor play is now getting really boring for our puppy. Any thoughts out there on fun things for them to do inside to blow off steam when it's pouring out?

We lived in the tropics in Australia before moving to Canada and it rains for 3mths on and off, lots of rain they just get used to it i guess and the thing to remember is not to have white carpet in the house. We do have white carpet where we are and i so miss the terracota tiles were it didnt really matter if the footsteps out run me and a simple mop cleaned the floor.

Go out anyway. That way they get used to the rain and to walking in it, and hopefully you won't have problems in the future getting the dog to go out in bad weather to go to the bathroom!!

Well I do have the best toy idea for you - the Zogoflex ball. Go to: http://www.westpawdesign.com/catalog/dogs/dog-toys/eco-friendly-dog-toys/eco-friendly-products/huck
It is indestructable and is very bouncy. Peri goes bananas over it and could play by herself with it for a looong time. It bounces back and forth and on its own. So funny to watch...

--Practice new tricks
--Stuff each meal's kibble inside a treat ball so they have to roll it around to get fed
--Practice obedience
--Play hide-and-seek with a fun toy...my dogs love this, though we don't do it that often. I'll wave a great toy in front of them. Have them sit and stay....walk around the corner and hide it in a easy to find location. Then release the dog. I make it harder and harder each time as they catch on.

It is hard when it rains for days.... like you said they get bored real fast. It would be a great time to work on their training.

Please don't ask for snow yet! Yankee loves the snow but I need some summer right now.

Our pups love the rain and mud, so as long as there's no lightning we just let them play outside if they want. We do go through an awful lot of towels though! I'm really looking forward to their first snow!

We play hide and seek sometimes. Yankee gets so excited that he gets tired fast. Ther isn't much to do except maybe work on some training or tricks. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I'm wondering if anyone has erected a tarp or something where the dogs might at least have a dry place to eliminate and how that worked?
