What kind of pooch or doodle could this be?

After 6 weeks, it's apparent that this guy is part of the family. Sure would like to know what he is though. Surely he is some kind of doodle! He certainly has some chompers on him and seems young, maybe 1 year old. His disposition is mellow, laid back, not much barking and very affectionate. He hardly sheds or smells at all. His hair is wavy and very soft with some wiry areas, like beard, eye and chest area. Huskins has a perfect light pink tongue, average size, with average black nose. He has a curled up tail, undocked. His coloring, with the black and tan, really throws me off. It reminds me of an airedale, but his head is bluish grey w/ tannish beard. I have been curious about the DNA kits. We will probably try one soon, not sure who is best to go with. He has his first vet visit Monday. Maybe he will have some good feedback.

Not yet, I hope soon though! I can't wait 2 more weeks! Shelly, after watching your video, maybe i should go BIG with the results. I could grab the video camera and get Huskins when I see that email from Wisdom Panel in my inbox. Then you can all see my reaction when I find out that Huskins is actually a beagle, poodle, yorkie mix! Hahaa, can you just see it?

Yeah! I'm one of you! Awesome! Ya know i was chasing him all over the house the other night trying to get a picture of him standing up, but he just kept laying down. I need to get outside with him to snap some pics of him playing. We are experiencing a terrible heat wave in Oklahoma right now. No one even goes outside and we try to keep the dogs in the house. It's been 110 and over for 6 weeks and no rain, except for today, finally! I just looked over at Huskins and he has jumped up on the kids little table to lick up some drops of milk my son made. This morning I found several trash containers tipped over that he was snooping through. Occassionally we find a little toy all chewed up. He doesn't seem to be lifting his leg anywhere, though. I can work with him on the other things. Ooh, so cute, he just cme in here with his rope toy and wants to play! See you guyz!

Hmmm, wonder how I missed it the first time. You did say curled tail.   Poodle Mix.  Save your money.

If you think it, it is true. You know, I think, therefore I am.  So like I said below, WELCOME and Congratulations on Rescuing a Doodle!

Linda,

Toooooooooo funny.  But the tail does help, kind of.  What ever this little dog is, he is in heaven.  You only posted 2 pictures, but that dog was meant to be.  Your kids love him, that is obvious, and all is right in the world!

May I welcome you to DK.  I say we settle it right now. YOU ARE NOW THE PROUD OWNER OF A DOODLE and you are one of us.  Congratulations.  Lucky You. Lucky Dog

He is really cute, no matter what. I don't recommend the dna kits. (I actually do molecular work as my job.) They would not give a protocol and have no accountability for the results they send out.
You can look at pictures of my Finnegan (that I did send dna off on). He came back as 1/2 Weimaraner, then dachshund, schnauzer, and husky. yeah right.

@ Joanne...you always want to see more tail. lol

I have seen Airedale/Poodle crosses but they aren't very soft, they are usually wiry and coarse. Hmmm. Don't know what he is but he's really cute!

Do you have any pictures of him standing up, showing the tail or eyes?  Guessing from the current picture I would say yorkiepoo or schnoodle, possibly havanese mix.  Huskins is very cute no matter what.

Wow--he is really cute--there are some doodles that have that color pattern--some are aussiedoodles (australian shepard/ poodle. There are also terrier /poodle mixes out there--like airedale/poodles. Whatever he is, he has lovely coloring! I wonder where he came from? he is so lucky to have found a loving family!

Do you have any more pictures of him?   One of the tail.  More of the ears?
