Yesterday I came home from work and found one of my shoes that I wore out to the bar on the weekend laying in the living room. Upon inspection, I noticed the heel was chewed a bit. I kind of shrugged it off. I was kind of upset that Abel would do that but it was just a tiny bit and though maybe he just smelled somthing on it or something.

So last night me and my boy go out for dinner. When we come back a couple hours later my shoe is chewed apart! Not only that, but he got a headband and ring off the table (they were also worn to the bar) and chewed on them as well. Abel is 14 months now and is inside alone 8 hours a day and has never done anything like this before. It is also strange that it was just the three items that were worn out on Saturday night. I had many other items and shoes around the house. Has anyone had this happen before?

On the plus side, though, tommorow is our one year anniversary of owning Abel!

This is so odd.... well dogs are used to detect drugs, bed bugs (these days), lost children, so perhaps some just have a 'thing' for beer. Perhaps for his anniversary you may need to give him a new name - like "Bud" , "Coors", or "Corona" - LOL Hey.... was there smoking IN the bar? Perhaps he didn't like the smell of smoke that lingers on our clothing even after we leave a bar????

It has to be the smell of the beer. Even Taquito the chihuahua gets all weird if he smells a beer. Too funny... :)

Happy Anniversary Abel.

Abel is bored?
Abel likes the smell of the bar?

My husband's old girl even at the age of 18 yrs old had to be kept away from Beer. She would steal it no matter what the costs. Certainly she was passed the chew stage. If there was unopened beer on the table she would knock it down and bite holes in the cans. If he felll asleep on the couch with a 1/2 empty beer after a long days work--she would knock it over so she could clean up the mess. If and when she got to the beer--she was an awful drunk howling hound dog! Non stop howling. Most dogs are not this bad but most dogs love the smell of beer.
