My Quincy doodle sleeps on the hardwood floor at the foot of my bed. He occassionally gets on the bed but rarely stays for more than a few minutes. He has his own comfy bed in my room but he rarely sleeps on it. The thing is I feel bad that he sleeps on a hard floor and worry that it might hurt his joints. I guess I am comparing how I would feel if I slept on a floor. I think maybe he just likes the coolness of the floor. Am I being silly? Tonight I put a quilt on the floor for him so we'll see how that goes. He is a bit of a chewer but doesn't bother things at night when we are asleep.

Peri sleeps on her bed, which is right below our bed on the floor, in the bathroom on the rug, or the hardwood floor (still don't get that). By 5am every morning, she is on our bed, right below my feet. She sneaks up there :) Woke of this morning to silly doodle on my feet with all 4 paws in the air - so cute.
Taquito sleeps under the covers with me.

Nugget sleeps wherever she wants and does choose to sleep on the hardwood or tile sometimes. But she moves around a lot during the night, too. She may start out in one of the bedrooms with people company, but then takes off to a couch or chair downstairs. I think she prefers to be as cool as possible at night without being cold. If we're traveling, she sleeps at my side of the bed on the floor.

Sadie's name is going to be changed to Spooner, she cuddles into my backside once she thinks I've settled in.

During the day, Fudge sleeps in the foyer on my antique sofa. My kids like to comment that they are barely allowed to sit on that sofa, but Fudge can take her naps there. The foyer is our coldest room and she loves it out there. At night, I try and get her to sleep on our bed, but she prefers the cold, hard, floor to any of her beds. She snuggles for awhile on our bed, but then stands up and peers over the side and someone has to lift her down. She can leap really high, but has not figured out she can jump off the bed or she just likes the service. Next, I'll be putting a treat on a pillow for her :) Spoiled doodle, for sure.

Now... I ask... how is it that we know all of the different places our doodles go to during the night to sleep??? Could this mean that with all of their moving around WE are not getting our beauty rest??? LOL

Neely comes into our bed at bed time and has his snuggly time as well in the morning its up and snuggle, chew time as well. He started in a crate but soon didn't need that and we wanted him in our bed. My older dog had a bed but Neely chewed it!! So she has been doing without until we could find something that would do her good and not be as chewable. We found an old mattress here and Neely is leaving it alone now so Jazzy does sleep on it. But she still lays on the hardwood or the basement floor with only carpet on it. She has sores from the hard surfaces too. With Neely we didn't want this to happen. We have looked around for different types of beds but it seems Neely likes variety. He snuggles then hops down and plunks onto the hardwood beside our bed. At some point he heads out to the living room and either lands on the hardwood there or gets up on the couch. We have leather couches. They warm to body temp and don't seem to raise in heat like a fabric would. The couch is his favorite place to sleep. We have three of them so he does use them in some sort of rotation. The nice thing about the couches is that the arms are just the right hieght for him to use as a pillow. He likes a pillow no matter where he sleeps. I do think he does get hot so there fore likes to change position alot. Plus our house is very busy with people coming in and out at all hours so he is always curios about what his people are up too.

When we're home, a favorite place for Tori to sleep is on one of our window seats. There's no cushion on them now... but she just lays there. I think she likes the air that may be coming in there... hmmm maybe she knows something we don't.... time for new windows???

Lilly does the same thing. She has a bed beside ours but most of the time she will be on the hardwood floors. I think its cooler for her.

Finally Thalie now understand that a queen bed is only for her mom & dad! She is sleeping on her big round cushion next to my side of the bed as Gamine, our Golden is sleeping on the carpet on her dad side.

Thalie will come on our bed early in the morning to finish her beauty sleep there until we all wake up.

Phoebe sleeps in her crate at night or whenever we head out. I put one of those sherpa crate liners (about an inch and a half thick) in it as I wanted her to have something comfy to lay on--she also has her original tiny dog bed in there that she still uses as a pillow (it is pretty worn from washing it a million times but I don't have the heart to throw it out yet).
