Who needs bully sticks, when there are rubber balls?

I took my daughter to PetCo to buy the doodles some new rubber balls.  They really love the Chuk-it orange fuzz-less 'tennis' balls that last forever -- truly!  The only reason we were out of them is because they miraculously disappear after a while.

Well needless to say the doods have been in heaven since late last week.  I knew they'd be excited, but that's ALL they do when they get outside: Rosco lays down and chews his ball like a giant wad of gum and Boca (if she's not dropping the ball at your feet 100 x in a row for fetch) will just play with it on her own.  They're now officially re-obsessed!

But what's more fun than a game of ball all by yourself?  A game of capture the ball inside the Holee Roller!   You can squeeze a tennis sized ball like this through the larger holes in the largest sized Holee Roller and it will keep a dog like Boca occupied for hours:

Notice Rosco in the background, enjoying sedentary ball play.

Wow!  I have a Holee Roller and never thought to put anything inside it!  Duh!  Biscuit will love it.  Penny will be more like Rosco.  :)   And I see Natalie in the background - she's getting so big!

AWESOME!! I'm going to get a Holee Roller today!!! My Molly LOVES her chuck it balls, she is obsessed with them and lately she has been pushing them under the couch and then running around trying to get them out from under the couch...it's realllllly annoying and at first we thought she it was an accident and the ball just rolled under there, but then we watched and realized, nope...she was actually PUSHING the ball under the couch. You have just found my solution and I know this will keep her occupied and happy for hours!!! Thanks Adina!!!

Now that looks like a great way to occupy a dog!  I got a Chuck-It for Rua, but when I chuck the ball, she SOMETIMES runs after it, but mostly not and IF she picks it up, she doesn't bring it to us.  Guess the retreiver part of her hasn't kicked in on retreiving yet.

OH Goody I can't wait to do this with Daisy's Holee Roller! I don't think she's over the top obsessed about her chuk-it ball enough yet. She only sleeps with it in her mouth. Ha Ha

She never did, Karen. But I also will remove it after a while just in case she tries to eat through the HR.

Does Boca ever get the ball out?

I was not familiar with the Holee Roller. JD doesn't want to chew on the tennis ball, he only wants to retrieve it-over and over and over and over...

What a great idea!!! I always hate the little tennis ball rolling under the sofa. This way, it is too big to roll under the sofa!!! I love it!!

Cute pictures of Rosco with the ball!  Have to add to my previous post--I tried the ball inside the Roller, and Trav was horrified!  He carried it around a little bit, pawed at it a couple of times, then looked at me and whined!  He really wanted the old tennis ball inside the Roller and obviously doesn't think it's fair to 'hide' it like that.  :)
