Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Rooney here . . . . . . I turned 5 months old yesterday and it has been 2.5 months since my abduction from "Breeder". "Smelly" - the lady that stole me is now my Momma - and I love her. I realize now that Breeder has other puppies to take care of and that my Mom and Dad took me home because they really needed a doodle baby to love. Every single day we have new adventures together. I am deep into the process of training my Mom and Dad - they were totally clueless. I am on it I assure you. First off - I taught my Mom that when Dad is out of town - I can't really provide her the total Doodle Protection Plan from my crate. To really provide the best coverage - I need to sleep on her bed. That way when those intruders come barging through the doors - I'm right there to bark and bite (but first I have to get some teeth - they keep falling out - WTD, I spit two out the other night, one last night and one this morning - I need dentures). I have been taking my Mom to Advanced Puppy Obedience Class and I was the youngest puppy to ever graduate - my Mom was very proud. That happy feeling came in handy yesterday when it was raining, and raining and raining. I have taught my Mom that wet = BAD. I have let her know that I do not like my bath, or my feet being wet or stepping on anything wet. So while Mom was still feeling like I was really smart for my Obedience training - I taught her that I don't want to poop outside if I have to get wet. I pooped on her floor. Nuff said. Here in FL we are having a big as in PIG problem. Our beautiful golf development has been invaded by wild pigs. Some of my friends from the puppy park have actually seen them buggers out on their walks through the marsh. HIGH ALERT! My doodle hackles are up and I will sacrifice myself to protect my Momma from those evil hogs!!!! If I go down in the line of doodle duty - my last words are to my puppy love - Rua!
Me on Pig Patrol in the marsh!Comment
Rooney, you sure look cute working pig patrol!
I hate to go outside in the rain, too. When you are as big as I am, you will be able to do what I do...just hold it! Don't go poop at all until it's dry outside. This has the added benefit of making your mom crazy worrying about you, and a worried mom is a really soft-touch for all kinds of spoiling, if you get my drift!
You're on the right track, little buddy!
Your friend,
JD
Rooney, You are training your mom well. We would love to help you on your pig patrol - it beats cat patrol. Now that the wild kittens have grown up and left, there is nothin' to patrol for. The major rains here rotted our fence and we learned to dig under and to pop boards out to escape... much fun. And we terrorized the neighbors with our presence. That was fun too.
Ned and Clancy
PS Rooney, I suddenly started pooping on the patio instead of the wet grass. My mom was MAD and tried every stinky thing to make me stop. I stopped but only when I was good and ready = Clancy
Rooney you are doing a great job of training your mom, but pooping in the house, dood what's with that. You go on pig patrol but you won't brave a little rain. You are still incredibly cute no matter what and I'm guessing mom will forgive you this one little lapse in judgement.
