I start chemo today for leukemia. I am blessed with a great family and wonderful friends that have all rallied around me. However, I really wish I could bring Achilles with me. He would not be a problem. Ok so he might want to great everyone there (who doesn't want a big doodle kiss?) He hardly ever barks and basically would be glued to my side. So what's the prob. They should make a place where you could go with your pets if they were a great comfort. Maybe we could collectively make that happen. Well at least I get to snuggle when I get home.

Hey Anna! I'm so sorry to hear that you have this issue to deal with! :(  I'll bet Achilles doesn't like being separated from you any more than you like leaving him at home!! If they won't allow him to come perhaps taking your favorite photo of him and maybe a lock of his hair might help you feel some of his calm energy with you! I know his spirit will be with you even if his body can't be!! We're praying for your speedy and complete healing!! Blessings!!!

Anna, only good thoughts and hugs coming your way from your friends here in Florida.  Oliver and Renny will keep their paws crossed, and I shall just say prayers that you recover quickly and kick that awful disease to the curb.  Stay strong and I too would ask if you could bring Achilles...You never know, but I do understand the thought they there may be some immune suppressed patients there, and they may not be able to allow pets.  If they don't, and you don't have someone to be there with you, try to get those books on tape, they are great to listen to and the time will go quickly.  A good book might help too to pass the time.  Just remember that we are alwyas here for you, so maybe your computer is allowed, and you can go to the chat line here to help pass the time...Take care, and stay strong, You will get thru this, and then on with your life...

Oh Anna, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this.  I'm a "volunteer chemo buddy" at our local Cancer Center, and they also don't allow pets or even children under 12 because of the concern over compromised immune systems.  I do understand that you'd want your "buddy Achilles" right there with you...I'd want my guys too.  Although I can't quite picture Murph...at least the chemo patients would have a "floor show" to watch.  LOL.  I wish I was closer....I'd be right there with you.  Do you have a laptop that you could bring to your treatment sessions....we could ALL be your virtual chemo buddies.  We could talk Doodles and take your mind off of things.  Please know that you have tons of support right here...so many prayers and hugs are being sent your way.

What a great idea! There is nothing that could make folks undergoing chemo feel better than to have their dood (or other critter) by their side. I wish you all the best in your treatments.

Anna we wish you well and hope everything turns out fine. Did any of your kids play hockey, maybe you can sneak Achilles in a hockey bag you could just say it's your make me feel better kit, but seriously I would think that whatever is good for the patient is what should be done and if that means having Achilles by you side that's the way it should be.

Anna - I hope this message finds you back home with Achilles by your side.  Saying a prayer and sending hugs your way.

Oh Anna, do take care.  I feel awful that you have to go through chemo.  Have you seriously asked them if you can bring Achilles with you?  They may say yes.  Our neighbour was allowed to bring his Bichon to visit his wife in the hospital.  You never know.  I will keep you in my prayers.
