With Destruction Like This...Who Needs a Puppy?

I have only recently gotten over my puppy fever, deciding to wait until next year at the earliest (believe me I was tempted a few weeks ago to say "OK..let's get it THIS SUMMER!")

But with destruction like this...WHO NEEDS A PUPPY?

Natalie is doing great. 6 1/2 months old and more fun every day. She's been sitting up by herself for a while, babbling, has two itty bitty teeth and will soon be taking her first swim "lesson!"

Rosco has gotten more and more tolerant of her hair pulling and now will just lie there as if nothing is happening quite often. (We don't let her go overboard though!)

And Rosco and I passed our Delta Society renewal eval so we'll be set to do therapy stuff again...if I ever find time. We did GREAT...except for two areas: 1) While he was being loved up and petted I was supposed to call him to me. Fail #1. He said "Mom...I'm giving THERAPY can't you see?" 2) The evaluator sets out a toy for him to walk by and "leave it." I knew this was a lost cause as soon as I saw the toy. It was a toy horse. The same type of toy that made him almost fail 2 years ago. That was in Spokane. This time we tested in a different city with different evaluators and AGAIN they used the evil toy horse. That's the only thing he wanted in the whole room at that point. Luckily there are not toy horses laying around in the middle of rooms where we go visit...*sigh*.

Natalie is adorable, I think 6-9 months is such a cute stage. They are learning to make noise, crawl around, and they are so much more alert! As much as I love seeing people get new puppies, I think it's a good idea too.

Oh yes, that "everything the mouth stage", followed quickly by crawling. During this stage I was always tempted to "tether them to me".....I didn't, of course. I was always paranoid that they would find something on the floor and swallow it (I was really a vacuuming lunatic) during that phase. She is adorable, Adina. This next year or two will be so exciting and full of "firsts". As much as I'd love to see you with a puppy, I think you're so smart to wait until next Summer (OMG, I can't believe I actually said that). Congratulations to you and Rosco on your Delta renewal certification. Where are you going to do your therapy work?
