For those of you who work from home, do you get Doodle guilt? I know puppies and dogs sleep a lot, that's normal, but as the sun starts to become a more regular occurrence I'm feeling more and more guilty watching Bern mope around the house because I can't play with him every second!

It doesn't help that I just took on a new client and am juggling a new schedule.

Do you all go through this? I realize there's not much I can do - if I worked out of the house he'd be here alone likely moping anyway...but part of me feels entertaining him should be included in the "benefits package" of working from home?!

Perhaps it goes deeper and the part of me that wants to be outside in the sun too is beating my good work ethic side over the head for being indoors...

I have these same feelings with Hunter!  I work from home Mon-Fri 930A-6P and I feel like she is looking at me like "why are you just sitting in that chair talking? why aren't you playing with me and petting me".  Lately she has taken to laying right behind my desk chair and I have to make sure not to roll into her as she naps!  Sometimes when I take my break or lunch and try to get her to go outside or play she just lays there like I am nuts and wants to be left alone. LOL

I work from home 1 day a week and do get the doodle guilt trip towards the end of the day.  Harlow will sit and stare at me mournfully.  If I look at her she gives her tail a small wag.  If that doesn't work she bumps her head up under my "mouse hand".  We take a play break then and she will settle down for an afternoon nap.

Guilt...only with regard to food.  He watches me eat, and I eat um every couple hours.  I've taken to measuring his food for the day in a tupperware and dispensing it when necessary.  He's lost weight this way, finally.

My kids come home after school though so he gets to play earlier than if I had a f/t day at the computer.

I work from home a lot.. and lately if Luna gets bored she CLAWS at my arm.  I try to ignore it, but she's just so desperate for my attention.

I try to tire her out, but she's still a puppy so she's raring to go almost as soon as I'm done playing with her!

I hear you on the nose poking into the laptop Adina... Luna has nosed my keyboard quite a few times and I had to put a plastic cover over my powerbar because she kept stepping on it and turning my computer off!

oh i know that guilt all too well. up until a month ago i worked from home pretty much full time. Duncan is a low energy dog but he would start to get bored around lunchtime so i would always take a long break mid-day to walk him and then we'd go to the dog park every evening. that kept him content. Now I work 3 days a week out of the home and he's MISERABLE! I am fortunate that the days are getting longer so as soon as i get home i take him for a walk to get the energy out. But i dread when i am invited out for dinner because once i get home from work i don't want to leave him again. the guilt kicks in!!!!

This is so funny. My DH says all the time that Fudge and Vern are the first dogs he has to entertain. I am constantly thinking I should be walking them or throwing the ball.
