I've had to practice a happy voice and face at the same time I'm telling my boys how disgusting the thing is they are eating and/or rolling on and calling for hazmat clean up =:-)
ARGH this is the third time I am posting this response.....
We have a doggy door so our 'presents' are left inside near our bed - gross. Our doodles are not the ones to leave us these presents though. It is our Springer Spaniel. He has a soft retriever mouth and while our gifts 'don't move no more,' and are totally covered in slobber, their guts and innerds are intact. Thankfully.
Myla's story---aaaak. OMD.
Rigby just wants to share his good fortune with his mom! lol
Myla loves large stones and plays with them - she knows she's not allowed to have them because she grabs them as soon as I look away! The other day she was laying on the grass and flicking it up in the air and playing with it so I said "Leave it!" and went over to take it out of her mouth. When I got it out I discovered it wasn't a rock but the head of a pocket gopher!!!! It was so gross!! I was screaming and crying and jumping around all at the same time - Poor Myla couldn't figure out what was wrong with me!!!!
That's hilarious!
What is funny, is that my 10 year old Aussie knew there was a mole out there and she was sitting on the deck, he went to where it was, and she barked at him before he got a chance to pick it up, and he turned right around and came back looking like she reprimanded him. I'm thinking she told him to "leave it" because she wanted to go get it later!
Stephanie, My DD's doodle ate everything in sight. It was and exhausting time of vigilance keeping his mouth clear of "foreign" objects... mercifully nothing alive! I just do not know if I could handle your litany of critters in semi-alive states. YUCKO! He will grow out of it but maybe not before you tire of it. ;o)
I am hoping he hunts some...but not dead things!!! lol he did seem to go after a few birds in the lawn yesterday. It was cool to see the natural ability he seems to have.
